I have had the hidden antenna in the fairing since shortly after getting my SGS and have had enough of it, useless in my area.

I cant stand the look or the way the stock antenna seems to always be in the way so I'm going to try a short antenna and see if that resolves both issues for me.

That being the case any recommendations as well as ones I should stay away from ?

Solid or flexable what say you SGdotcom ?

TIA

I have the shorter HD antenna. I got tired of removing it every time I put my bike cover on. So I just cut it and reinstalled the rubber cap. It has the same reception so Im satisfied.

I never listen to the radio. So off with the whip. Put some electrical tape on the threads of the mounting plate and replaced the rubber grommet with the full cap. Problem solved. Cost me $3.20 for the cap.

Dang! You guys are geniuses!! I chose the other route (internal fairing antenna).

HD stubby for me works well. Hidden one I couldn't get hardy any stations

Honestly I dont listen to music 'that' much and do use a thumb drive but I would like to be able to listen to radio if I felt the need.

I have had Sirius in my trucks for so long, I wouldn't know how to work a radio. Unless the end of the world kicked off I still see no reason to tune into a radio.

Got the HD hidden antenna. One of these days it's coming out. I get a buzzing from engine noise. I'll just use the whip or try a stubby when the tour pak is off. When the pak is on I have the full size whip on there.

My hidden unit has never buzzed and honestly my reception seems to be good as well.

Also am getting interference with the new CD led turn modules. Gonna have to try moving the ground like the instructions mention. If that don't help I may have to sell them. I listen to the radio every time I ride. Can't mess with the tunes.

Buchshot-sorry for your pain here. I can't think of a logical answer to your problem. I have a few friends running CD LED's on their 2012 - 13 bikes and haven't had issues. Is it possible you may have a defective module or have they sent replacement components already?

Follow the neg off the battery to the frame lug and ground it there. Don't ground to the battery.

They all looked new, not used. Wildchild gave me an idea in another thread. Gonna try that.
