Ok, I'm sure this discussion is not new, but I did search the forum and thought I'd try one more time. I'm considering the two seats mentioned in the topic. I'm a small guy at approximately 5'6" and 30" inseam. I'm comfortable on the stock setup on my 15 SG, but slightly lower and closer wouldn't hurt. The LowDown fits that bill, whereas the Corbin doesn't, but Corbin does customize free of charge. I know someone who's a Corbin dealer, so I can get the Corbin for about the same price as the Mustang. I feel like I can't pass up the deal on the Corbin since it's more customizable for stitching and color, it's leather, and well....it's a Corbin. However, I haven't ridden on a Corbin seat in many years and I'm nervous that it's too firm. I've never ridden on a Mustang. Help me decide!

I don't have experience with those exact seats but have many miles riding with Corbin and Mustang seats. the Corbin seats are very, very firm. They are hard which means you feel the bumps in the road more, a little harsher ride. BUT they take all the pressure points that start to burn after a while and eliminates them. I could ride 300-400 miles and my butt never hurt. The Mustang seats are softer, a much more cushiony ride. Where a stock Harley seat starts to hurt my butt after 100-150 miles, the mustang didn't start to bother me until 200-250. there are a lot of people that hate corbin seats, you either love them or hate them, never heard anyone say they hate the Mustang seats. My opinion if you are going to ride 300+ miles on a frequent basis, I would get the Corbin, if not go with the Mustang. I have a Mustang now and love it but I no longer ride those long distance rides like I did when I had the Corbin.

FJH, which Corbin seat would you have if you are 5'8" and weigh 190 lbs. would like to go back 1", and want a solo seat? I had my stock seat modified by Mean City and am only slightly happier.

Sorry for late response, I've been away. But I don't have an answer, never did the solo seat as my wife rides a lot with me. the comparison I did between Corbin and Mustang was on a Goldwing, rode about 10K miles on each seat and based on that I bought the mustang for my streetglide.
