How much difference to they really make? I think CustomSoundz has brackets so you can mount the speakers without the boxes. The boxes eat up a lot of valuable space under the cowling that I could use to mount other things.

Thanks

Biketronics makes a kit to get rid of them not Soundz. Getting rid of the pods wouldn't gain you any room since the speaker fills just about the whole area. The pods also add to the sound of the speaker.

I don't need much. Just enough to mount the air ride controller. Those boxes take up quite a bit space. I figured they offer brackets for a reason. I was hoping someone had a before and after comparison using high end speakers.

It's a homebrew setup based on a PLC. It has 3 presets...Normal, low rider and park. Normal puts it at a normal ride height. Low rider drops it about an inch and park drops it all the way down. Plan B would be to just use a few different pressure presets. Ride height presets require a sensor to determine height. Pressure would be easier to monitor and deal with. It won't be fully implemented until I finish my winter build and add front air ride.
