Speaker lid alternative to genuine HD?

Apologies if this topic was already beat to death elsewhere, but I'm desperately trying to find a quality made alternative to the HD speaker lids for my '17 SGS. The idea of paying ~$300 per lid and still having to get them painted seems outrageous. Any help/redirect is greatly appreciated. Please share your experiences if you've already purchased an aftermarket saddlebag speaker lid. Thanks!!

I just ordered the Hogworkz speaker lids. They'll be here Tuesday. They were $328 for the pair painted (denim black). Think they only paint denim and gloss black, so you would still need to have them painted. FWIW I looked at hogtunes as well. They have a good reputation from what I've read. Went with hogworkz because I had a good experience with them swapping to their LED headlight. And they are an American based company.

Hog tunes - I've got them on my 14 FLHX. You will still need to have them painted.

Thanks for the help - gonna look for some pics of their products. Hoping to retain the OEM / CVO look.

Just FYI if you go with hog tunes get their amplifier too. It allows for the rear speakers to get an audio signal with out having to go to HD and have the rear channels turned on with their scan tool.

I'll post up some pics of the lids
here in a few min.

I painted these with Axalta product. Pretty easy to do. I'd recommend using a plastic adhesion promoter before sealing and painting.

You bet. If you have any questions about the hog tunes stuff let me know. I ended up with the amp, rear lids/speakers, and the front speakers too. Running the stock HD non-GPS head unit - it's all plug and play.

Again - really appreciate the pics. Any chance you'd be willing to post a couple of what it looks like on the inside (with the bag open). How much room are you losing in the bags in terms of depth/width? - Does the speaker magnet sit below where the lower bag would start? Also - a pic of how you ran the wire from the bag would be cool. Thanks!

I'd be glad to. I'm out of town until end of the week so when I get back I'll put up some photos.

TSmith,
If you go the Hog Tunes route and use the radio I would make sure you get the analog amp. I originally had the digital amp from them and it kills FM reception as it uses the same frequencys.

Just thought i'd pass it along after 5 trips to the dealer and a year to learn that.
They werent volenteering the info.
Thanks
Greg

The original wire fasteners didn't work well for me so I opted for black duct tape to hold the wires in place. Maybe not the cleanest install but no matter what way you go there are wires and the duct tape holds well.
