Speedometer Calibration

I finally bought a FP3, works great. I did a Speedometer Calibration yesterday, mine was off by 4.8%. My speedometer now reads the same as my Zumo 660 reads. At 4.8% over 25,000 miles that is a 1,200 mile difference. I guess that I only have 23,800 miles on my bike.

Checked my stock speedo against a known and accurate gps app.. Sped downs consistently 1 mph higher than gps at all speeds.. I can live with that

I paced a sheriff's officer last week and noticed mine is off by approximately 5mph. Yes I know him. He wondered what I was doing! Lol what is an FP3??

FP3 is a tuner by Vance and Hines. When plugged in, there is a method to calibrate your bike with the tuner. Excellent product! Mine was off (low like most) by about 3% before calibration and now spot on with my iPhone GPS. Really only "noticeable" at highway speeds or as the other poster mentioned, over a long period of time tracking distance covered.

jmeadows, a caution, I have seen many times, the speedometer and odometer are not of at the same percent. The worst case was my 2004 Goldwing. the speedometer was 9% fast, and the odometer was 6% fast. A 2006 Kawasaki 900, the speedometer was 8% fast, the odometer was 4% fast. Wallacem in Ga

I just updated the app and unit firmware, but my FP3 won't calibrate my speedometer. sbruffone that I try the app point me to choose a map but there's only demo map available. if I go back, I have to reconnect the phone to the FP3. maybe I did something wrong? could someone tip me?

Will speedo recalibration work on 2007 flhx

Rev when you connect through the Bluetooth Make sure of two things: 1. IGNITION ON 2. RUN SWITCH ON. If all you see is demo maps then you are not connected. Good luck ;0)
