Since I bought the bike, I have had ongoing issues getting the bike to start in 1st gear with the clutch pulled in. Once in a while it works (seems to be when bike is cold for some reason) and have brought it to dealer multiple times and they can't seem to fix it or figure out what the issue is.

Anyone else have this issue? Just wondering if it's just that I am "lucky". I have to start it in neutral and finding neutral when I want to also seems to be an ongoing issue. But that they are able to fix for a bit by adjusting my shifter and then it works great for a few months.

I believe there is a switch on the clutch lever that needs cleaning???? Oh, and find another dealer!

I know people have been experiencing an issue with a Neutral safety switch. It occurs a lot when you've done some work, like new grips but it can happen even without work being done.

I had the same thing. There is a micro switch that gets activated when the clutch is pulled, My dealer said they have seen multiple issues and replaced it.

About three months after I bought my SGS a friend, who bought a new ultra Classic right before I picked mine up, told me his bike would only start if it is in neutral. A week later mine started doing the same thing. I took it in and the Dealer acknowledged that it was actually a fairly common problem. They ordered a new switch and replaced it under warranty.
