Stock shift linkage rod

Was told if there is one thing i should change should be shifter rod. Stock one is only pressed in and could break so the parts manager at dealer sold me on the chrome one. 90 bucks. Wasted money (upgrade ) anyone else ever heard of this? thanks!!!

I replaced mine, but there is nothing wrong with the stock one as far as I know.

Landmark has many different ones to pick from: Aluminum & Stainless

HAWNHOG, They're trying to upsell you. Nothing at all wrong with the stock one. It's all a matter of dress up taste. Welcome aboard!

I have read before that the stock joints are junk in a few thousand miles and can break. I bought one from landmark, only cause i like the design.

Hey 14 how you like the soft lowers was gonna get some also. Heard good things about it. Is your linkage the twisted design?

I haven't rode with lowers on yet. I also heard good things so i bought them since spring and fall can chilly.

I have the stainless steel fat barb wire shifter linkage

I know this is a old thread but can any of you tell me if the stock hime joint bolts can be removed and used with a custom linkage ?

I know they use to but not sure with the 2014, do the stock hime joints have to be removed from the linkage to remove the bolts with the rubber O-ring ?
This is being far more complicated then it needs to be. lol

Better yet anyone have a link to nice chrome bolts that would work ?

The rural area I live doesn't carry much even when I drive to a larger town near by.
That being the case I had to order on line which means I couldn't buy just the number I needed but in packages of 10 so yeah I have a few spare.
Guess if I ever lose one I'll have a replacement. lol
