Hey everyone, Curious how the Street Glide handles long rides and faster cruising, comfortable all day or does it get tiring? Anyone put serious miles on one? Some insights here: Speed Riders Would love to hear real experiences!

A couple weeks ago I mobbed from well north of Santa Barbara to south San Diego at 100mph, give or take a few mph going through L.A. I was fully impressed. Bike did well.
I rode from North Bay California to Mexico also. I got the 103 stage 1. Id say that lane splitting and cold weather are not ideal. You kind of have to get use to the ride. Each trip gets easier. Ultimately, I'd give the road glide the nod for going outta state. There's something about the SG that doesn't resonate well with me personally. I tend to like the shorter commute distances more than the multi-day excursions.

I make an annual 500 mile one-way trip ... we stop about every 150-170 miles for fuel & to stretch.
The stock seat isn't very good for longer saddle times for me.....

Here's my mods:
● Tall windshield - huge help for shoulder/neck fatique (BaggerShield convertible shield 8" & 14" tall).
● 12"/14" handlebars help neck/shoulders.
● Adjustable rider backrest (lower back & shoulders).
● 1.5" Floorboard extensions (legs).
● G.A.D.S. (Glide Air Deflector System) around front blinkers. Reduce updraft from over the tank and knees... reducing helmet buffeting.
● Ear plugs. Yes, cheap foam ear plugs. Reduces noise fatique ... yes, it's a thing. It also makes the radio sound soooo much better at speed by cutting out wind noise. Really, it does.
● Lower Fairings .... previously used soft lowers when cold or raining... but just installed cheap ebay hard lowers today.
● Rick-Rak tour pak bag to contain all my clothes for a week vacation.

The convertible windshield is a game changer. Cruise around town with the 8" shield, peeking over it easily. On long hauls or inclement weather, convert to 14" for full protection (Also helps the air go over a passenger).

Our group cruises about 75-80 on this trip .... faster when on the return leg.
