street glide stereo replacement

There is a thread on here somewhere about a replacement but I can't remember who sells it.

I went with the J&M system and John is a sponsor. It is expensive but he offers a very nice discount to forum members that puts him in the ball park of the others. I went with the 500w Rokker Extreme with fairing and lid speakers but a several have gone with the 250w and just fairing speakers. There is another option I believe it is 360w.

Read the forum thread on sound and check out our sponsor too. I chose a nicely priced system from J&M.

I am brand new to the forum and need the same advice..
07 Street Glide - Stock Radio and Speakers (STINK)

Whats the best radio to install (Must have USB Port)
Whats the best AMP & Speaker Kit

Any vendors or affiliates offering coupons on the forum??

whats everybody using for stock stereo replacement that wont break the bank?

I just installed a 4 ch amp and 4 speakers on my 2014 SG. I went with Cycle Sounds. The owner Ed Files is awesome to work with. I called him at all times of the day and night and he answered everytime. Support was a very important factor for me. I did my research and this was the best system for my budget. Good Luck

I have there system now and it's a good setup but just not getting the clarity that I'm looking for. System will probably be up for sale once I get the new setup. Plenty of volume and I changed the speakers to Infinity's removed the magic box once I had the system flashed but still a bit of distortion. I'm just picky I guess.

For the 13 and older SG's, there are a couple of choices out there... and some are plug and play with hand controls. You just have to look at what you want and what radio has it AND HD compatibility for hand controls. From there, you add your amp and speakers of choice ( this is a BIG decision ) depending how deep your pockets are.k

SoundzCustomz, Biketronics, J&M, and cyclesounds are a few companies you can get some ideas and pricing from and they are all willing to help figure out what you need.

fastbagger, as you don't have your sig filled out I don't know what year bike you have but I have been looking around at stereo replacements too. Amongst the others mentioned here I also found this: http://www.arcaudio.com/p/m-p-a-k-8?pp=24

I like watching Tony Ash on youtube as he transforms his streetglide and he likes the Arc 602 speakers but went with a Rockford Fosgate Punch amp. I like the system at the above link though because I'd install myself and everything needed is there and you can find it online at a decent price.

Wildchild, before you chuck the system-did you check to see if a radio flash might help? My J&M system needed one at the time. Since then I think J&M presets the amps so you don't need a flash.

That sounds like a nice thing to NOT worry about. The NOT needing a flash. I'll have to check out J&M because it seems like a pain to have to worry about going to HD for a flash if the amp is upgraded.

msquad- I went back in the threads and found this note in the instructions for the NEW amplifiers (JAMP-330HC14) from J&M:

"These new ROKKER XXR series amplifiers come out of the box already dialed in for this specific StreetGlide/Ultra speaker configuration, to provide maximum highway performance from your Harley Davidson audio system".

Thanks. I'm going to check that out now.

Edit:
You are correct...thanks!!!

This exciting new J&M 2-channel 330w fairing speaker amplifier kit has been designed specifically for use on the 2014-15 Harley StreetGlide or Ultra with the stock Harley radio (either version, NO special flash needed).

Thats ok wildcld. We all have different tastes and preferences. I hope u get the sound youre looking for.

Yep done the flash and the system sounds good good volume just some distortion at higher levels. I'm happy with it as the cost wasn't crazy but now I'm just looking for a better system now that I'm adding in the rear lids.

The VERY BEST sounding systems for the 2014-2015 Harleys are here ,,,,,, http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=55 ,,,,,,

Little more work involved than normal, but I hear hundreds of these bikes as the big J&M Audio trailer travels around the country, and NOTHING I have heard on the Rushmore Harleys compares to the J&M ROKKER XX Extreme systems, once everything is flashed and tuned properly ,,,,

So for a 14 and Rokker system 2 channel 2 speakers it needs or doesn't need flashed. I thought when we spoke it does, but I am reading above it doesnt?? Clarity please.
