Just bought a used Street glide from dealer. It has a 10 inch clear windshield. Being 5ft 8in in height its little to high. I have decided on 6.5 light tint windshield with the flip. Question is which make. Harley, Freedom, KlockWerks, Cee Bailey, Memphis Shade, Clearview, National Cycle probably missed a few. My dealer doesn't offer seats or windshields to try out. Second concern is passenger buffeting. I only carry a passenger 5 or 6 times a year. I have the stock two passenger seat and a year matching tour pack. Anyone with similar concern who found answer. Trying to weed out the windshields that have issues. Thanks

I have 3 different screens from Long Ride Shields (LRS) and they all work great (different screens for different applications) and they have AMAZING sales from time to time. I think I own all 3 for ~$150 total including shippling :D

I also own 2 Long ride shields , one i ordered with the etching with flames on it and half the flames are starting to fade other then that no issues with them, they are sturdy, and yes they do have sales quite often but the etching isn't sale priced.

Welcome transman to SGF. There are many excellent windshield choices, I use and love the Clearview. They sponsor us here and are USA made in Colorado.

Freedom Shields, I am 6', 34 inseam ; I went with a 8" dark tint and no buffering. I look just over the top or can hunch slightly and look through. They send them in a plastic wrap and you can demo and return if want a different size. Very high quality shield.

Thanks for replies! I am a UAW member and I prefer buying American products . Two guys that I ride with have and love these shields. My question about passenger head buffeting was answered by both and yes was the answer. I ordered the Long Ride Shields out of Sparks Nevada. $59.00 Dollars to the house.

Sounds like opinions on windshields are as diverse as opinions on oil. That said, I found Cee Bailey 10 years ago and love them. Aircraft windshield-grade acrylic I found to be thicker, sturdier than others. Polished to a glass-like finish. Wide range of sizes and tints available.

5'9 running a LRS 7" light tint , vary satisfied with it , works great ! !

Been using our Colorado Sponsors thick, re-curve CLEARVIEW shield for past 3 years. Very happy with it.

I just ordered the 8" LRS ultra light tint, it's on sale at the moment for $69.00

I have an 8" smoked Wind Vest. I tried several others and found Wind Vest worked best for me. I can now hear the radio!

I'm 6'. I did the HD 10" Windsplitter. No buffering at all, but I also have fork fangs, which do more for buffeting than the windshield. I also have a 7" Windsplitter, but the 10" is more comfortable. The main reason I did the Windaplitter is because I could demo all of them at the dealer back to back.

i just put a 6" Freedom Shield on mine....the customer service was outstanding from first contact, before I ever bought anything....he mentioned the 7" would be best for me, but I love the look of the smaller windhsields so I got the 6" (the 7" would truly have been the "proper" size to get....but it was taller than my taste would allow)

I'm just under 6'. I have a 6.5 Klock Werks, dark smoke. Looks great but still have buffering.

Picked up a LRS 7" dark tint while they had their sale $63 shipped to my door. Money well spent in my book. It definitely helps the buffeting and sound of the stereo.

I'm 5'10". I put a Clearview sport height smoked shield with upper recurve on my '16 SGS recently. It's perfect for me. Beats the hell out of that stock thing. Have used a Clearview shield on my FatBoy for a couple of years.

These guys rock. Would highly recommend them.

6.5" Klock Werks. Easy choice since they are here in Mitchell, SD. It was a noticeable difference from stock one. My helmet now stays clean of bugs.

I agree with ajnord...I just put a 6.5 Klockwerks on mine and huge difference.....a lot less buffeting over 60 mph.....still looks good as well
