I was wondering if anyone can tell me the pros and cons of the thundermax auto tuner. I have an 08' flhx with the sinister "up yours" exhaust, and RSD K&n air filter, thanks!

This is a great question and certainly one we get a lot. Of all the tuners on the market, my top recommendation is definitely the ThunderMax. What I like most about it is that since it is constantly re-tuning the bike based on the current air:fuel ratio, riding style, riding conditions, performance modifications, etc. you are always guaranteed that the bike is running at peak performance. So, for example, say you start the days ride at sea level and it's 95-degrees but by the end of the day you're at high elevation and it's 50-degrees the bike will always perform at its peak because the ThunderMax is constantly re-tuning the bike based on these conditions unlike other modules that provide one tune (map) that you are 'stuck' with.

The only downside I see is the price...MSRP is $899.95-$989.95. A lot of times when I recommend it to folks that immediately deters them from the unit but for those who are serious about getting the best performance out of their bike, this is a non-issue since the purchase is more of an 'investment-type' purchase.

Another positive is that the ThunderMax can be pre-programmed for your particular set-up so all you would need to do when you received it is 'plug & play'.

Hopefully this helps...

Great info Lindsey. It's definitely more expensive than other tuners but it sounds like it's more beneficial too. It does seem like a bit of overkill to go this route (cost wise) if it's only being used as a plug and play tuner.
