Ticking Noise

I have always had the ticking noise associated with the Big Twin motors but recently it seems to have gotten louder. I am seriously considering putting in rocker lockers and I am wondering if I should be looking at other potential problems.

Also, if I do take the rocker covers off to do rocker lockers, are there other recommended upgrades that could be done at the same time? I have not done a cam swap so the motor is stock except for the stage 1. Are there upgraded rockers that I could put in at the same time I do the rocker lockers?

If it sounds so bad that a mechanic thinks you need to inspect the valve train, just replace any out of spec parts with new factory parts. That will be fine for a stock motor.

It's a lot more trouble if you have a sticky valve where a valve stem is sticking in the valve guide. This can be caused by bad valve seals.
