I originally placed this in the 2018 section.. Might have been better here.

Hey everyone. I currently have a 15 SGS in Denim Black. The boss has given me permission to trade up to a 19 model if I want to. Here is my dilema....

I really like the 15 and it'll be paid for in a year or so. I do wish i gave other colors a shot when buying it. i have been wanting to do a stage 1 or 2 on it, but have not yet.

now... the 19 SGS/RGS comes with the 114 which would offer more hp/tq over the 103ho. Plus I could get something with a little color to it.

My actual question is.... Would you trade up to the 19 SGS w/ new color and 114 or stick with current 15 SGS, denim black, stock 103 until stage 1/2 come along?

Is it worth the upgrade... stock for stock?

I stumbled across this file in the Harley Tuner folder on my computer:

Apparently H-D is working on a direct injection engine. I'll wait for that!

I had the same dilemma, I really like the billiard blue and the 114 but after looking at this in a financial sense I decided to keep my 15. My bike is paid for and after trading in I'd still owe $15000 for a paint job and a bigger motor, if I put a third of that into my paid off bike I'd end up with a very nice bike.
Good luck with your decision.

Do stage 1 and then I bet you'll change your mind unless you just are not happy with the power as all. Then when you think about this again do stage 2 and then be happy for a couple more years. As for color you should be happy that you don't have to wax your bike all the time and it doesn't look dirty 2 days after being washed. I wish I went with a denim color because I'm not one that really enjoys cleaning my bike so it's usually dirty!

Your bike is the last of the newest Twin Cam motor. Do you really want to trade such a classic, for a motor that was basically forced upon the Moco by the Obama era EPA? Yeah, it has more power, but how much do you need? It's not like your bike is slow and underpowered by any means. If you're bored with it, do some upgrades. Stage 1 and some fancy cosmetic parts here and there to spiff it up. If you haven't already, upgrade all lights and blinkers to LED. It'll feel new, but you won't be giving up such a classic bike, and trading for something inferior IMHO, and having this huge payment

Well? Jack Wagon did you do it?
I was in the same stich. So I went to the dealer rode a 107 and 114 than a Road Glide. I did not notice enough difference to make the jump. The result - I am keeping mine because I have not had any problems and have customized a few things to make it mine. Next month I will install a TTS100 cam for more power out of the hole and Legends in the front. Good Luck to you.

I have not made a move yet. I'm leaning towards keeping it and upgrading a few items. I'd love to go straight to the tire shredder, but the boss said "nope". So i'll do Stage 1 or 2 and bars, etc.. You all have made alot of good points. Financially, it's a dumb idea.
