Trying to upgrade my seat

Hey guys. This site has given me loads of helpful info, but forgive me for reaching out for some more.

My wife finds the passenger seat a bit uncomfortable over long trips. An hour or two, here and there, no problem. But when we do longer trips it doesn't cut the mustard. I was thinking about getting a Sundowner seat because they are affordable and they don't look too bad. Problem is, I've installed the HD chopped tourpack and apparently the Sundowner doesn't fit with a tourpack. Then I came up with an idea at the dealership. The Road Glide Ultra had a nice wide stock seat along with a tourpack, I wonder if it will fit my Street Glide. Has anybody tried to do this?

I know there are many alternatives, but I like the look of the stock seat. Of course, if someone happened to have the seat I'm talking about and it works, I am definitely interested.

I have a friend that has a Road King with the Sundowner seat. He and his wife love it. They do some long travel rides as well. They were trying to talk me into one.
 
Welcome to SGF T Jay. I had the same problem and also love the styling of the stock seat but alas, my wife's tiny little a$$ was still uncomfortable sitting on it. My remedy after choking on the cost of the Hammock seat from Harley ($550) was to pickup a new Utra take off seat cheap. Now, she likey a lot!!!!
 
Thanks for the input fellas. So, as it turns out, the Road Glide seat won't fit on my Street Glide, but a seat from an Electra Glide Ultra will fit. And... It's only $260 bucks. Gonna drag my wife to the dealer and have her see if it sufficiently cradles her glorious glutes. I'll keep you posted.

Side note, one of these days I'll figure out how to post some pics of my ride. Computers generally just aren't my thing, they never want to cooperate.
 
T Jay- when you get ready to post pics, first make sure their not too big-usually about 40 80 kb is a good size. Then after you finish your text, put the cursor on the next line-click the little green square above in the menu area and a popup will ask you where your pic(s) is (ie desktop) select up to 3 or 4 and click OK. Note that the little green film strip is for posting small/short movies.. Lots of times if there is something I want to post from say You Tube, I'll post a link to it to save server space. You can also double click the pick before posting and a menu will pop up to allow you to increase the size of the pic-Then post your message!
 
Seems to have worked for you T Jay nice sled you have there.
 
Upgraded to the stock Ultra seat. The wife loves it and has not complained about butt burn since.

08 and newer "Will" fit but the 14 and newer seats will have just a little more room for the levers on your newer style saddlebags to operate....either will work though and depending on the price you can make a decision from there.

I would suggest reworking your stock seat if you like the look of it. For the money, Mean City Cycles does incredible work. I just had my seat and my husband's FLHTPI pillow seat done.

Update: The Electra Glide Ultra seat has been ordered, will be at the dealer in time for our trip to Toronto in a couple weeks. The wife sat on the seat and was immediately impressed. Since our dealer has an MVP program I got it for under $250, tax included. For the price I just couldn't turn it down. Down the road perhaps we'll go for a more custom fit saddle, but with riding season happening right now I couldn't stand to have down time due to shipping my seat out.

T Jay- Good for you. It's really hard to beat the MVP program, I wish ALL dealers would adopt it. Its a great reward for good customers!
 
put on a like new ultra seat picked up used for $ 125 wife likes it it does set the driver up a little but comfortable .

i am happy with it .
