Ultra seat vs. Hammock

Ok, so I'm not so happy with my stock SGS seat and looking for a change; not too concerned about "the look". Let's hear about a stock Ultra seat vs. the Hammock seat on the road. Thanks

Had a gel pad insert put in my stock seat and what a difference that made. I can go 1000 miles now where before I could only go for a couple hundred.

I have a hammock and its awesome. I'm sure there are others more expensive that are better but I'm happy.

Love it Great Quality. looks good

Chuckles, I was just looking at the Ultimate Midrider. How many miles do you have on it and can you tell a difference in long distance rides compared to stock ?

Only got about 700 miles on seat it is very comfortable for both rider and passinger will take Alittle to break in but built great quality excellent much better than stock wife loves it sits you a hair higher but still fell like your into the bike

I've got a Hammock (but should have paid extra for the heated one) and I love it. It literally has a fabric hammock inside. It handles potholes and train tracks without rattling your teeth. I can ride 700-800 miles in a day without a problem. I'm very happy with it and even convinced my Dad to put one on his Ultra.

The wife just dropped the bomb that the stock seat is not up to par for long rides so a seat just got moved to the top of the list. I'm looking at the Hammock and hoping that it's really worth that $500 price tag.

RuknRole it takes a couple hundred miles to break the seat in but after that I'm sure you will both enjoy the added comfort. Good luck!

Just put the Hammock on about a week ago - both the wife and I love it! With the stock seat, the wife needed to stop every 60 miles. Now, we have been over the 200 mark and no complaints. You will love it.

Got the Hammock in and tested yesterday. It should be call "Does this make my Ass look Big seat" ! Passenger part is huge. It IS comfortable and will test for long rides. But pretty ugly IMO.
I can see using the stock in town and switch to Hammock for the longer rides.

I passed by Harley today with the wifey to get a battery for her sportster and we sat on an ultra. I think that's what I'm going with. We'll try out the ultra seat next weekend on a long ride .

I ended up getting an Ultra seat for what I figured was a bargain ($140 shipped) and am very happy with it. The wife hasn't been on it yet but I think she'll like it.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the ultra classic and ultra limited seats? Also is there a difference between the 2014-16s and the 2017s?
