Planning a trip and going to use Hwy 93 from missoula MT down to Vegas. anyone know what its like for fuel south of Ely NV.

From Ely to Pioche is like 108, Ely to Panaca is 120 and Ely to Caliente is 132, Ely to Alamo is 148 all these places have fuel. From Alamo you should make Vegas on a full tank. Hope this helps but there is lot's of history along that route have fun. Make sure you fill up in Well's before heading for Ely as it's 135 miles in between with no fuel stops.

Good riding a lot of straight with some curves. Coming from Montana you should already have that 3rd sense to watch for wildlife but keep an eye out for elk, deer and antelope and cattle on the road. When are you planning on going through ?? I will be over that way around the 22nd of August.

Last summer, I left Las Vegas for Boise on my TC88 taking US93 (in a pretty bad headwind) to see my 2 of my grand-babies, made it 124 miles and ran out of gas. And no cell service. After the first 3 hours of waiting, it wasn't funny any more. After close to 5 hours, a super nice guy on a big Honda pulling a trailer stopped, and he had a 2 gallon gas can. He would not take the $100 I tried to give him, just asked that I pay it forward. I thanked him, and me and my sunburn headed down the road.

Now I carry a Reda gas can if I go that route, and don't pass any gas stations.
