USB to bike, BT to ipod?

Can I run my iPod off of the USB and then Bluetooth a headset to the iPod just to stream audio? I'm not so interested in making phone calls while riding, but I like to use earbuds on long highway runs to cut down on wind noise. Don't really want to add the comm plug just to get the option of a headset when I don't intend to use voice. I can always default back to tossing my player in my pocket, but I kind of like having the controls on the bar and not having to fumble for them.

Try it... see if it works.... no harm in trying and haven't lost anything if it doesn't...

Was kind of hoping someone else already had. Don't have a BT headset laying around here and my wife is starting to catch on to things appearing in my Drawer of Failed Experiments...

Hit up Mojo.... I think he has a BT headset...

Sounds like it would work okay. You're just trying to power the iPod via USB, right? If so, I think connecting a BT to the iPod directly would still work.

I don't have an iPod, but I'll plug my phone into the USB tomorrow morning and bust out my old BT headset just to see if it'll work.

Hi Pick Welcome by the way. Given the limitations the Boom Box has I came up with a "work around" that works quite well for me:
I connect my iPhone via the USB cable in the Juke cavity after I connect my Blue tooth LG Tone Pros. I set the radio onscreen control to SEEK (not SCAN) and can move fwd or rev in my selected iPhone Playlist with the Left hand toggle. I also can see my album covers (downloaded in iTunes) onscreen of the Boom Box. It works better for me than the wired HD hedaset. If I wanted I could even answer a phone call but I choose not to. BTW, the LG Tone Pros are availabe for about $40 here:

Precisely what I wanted to hear. It makes sense that that would work, but given some of the other "features" of this unit...

What an amazing bike. What an...interesting...navigation and entertainment system...

Thanks!

I knew you were the one to have his answer...

I assume Mojo's connection theory would be the same with any type of headset (Sena SMHx), right?

I am not 100% sure... but I think he tried a few different scenarios and units before he found what worked... He'll be back...

eberky- If it's a Blue Tooth headset that will pair with your phone then the answer is yes. I have no experience if "other" smart phones will display album covers on the Boom Box though.
