So I washed the bike today and I went out to do the new update and when the radio comes on I get a sharp pulsing noise coming out of speakers. I'm thinking something got wet, the amp maybe? Or a connection to the amp? Anyone else have this problem?

Hey Crumb.....I can't answer your question, however, I have read on this site, where guys have sealed part of their fairing. Hang in there, I am sure you will get suggestions soon. I try not to put more than a light misty rinse over my fairing when I wash the bike.

Ok so I unplugged amp power. And speakers and hooked them back up stock and everything works fine. I sure hope a little water in the fairing didn't fry the amp!

I think you are okay. I doubt you would hear much if you fried the amp.

Washed bike now audio problems

It is the J&m 180 watt 2 channel professional series

i had a j and m did the same thing there not water proof plugs or anything . so i pulled it out and went back to stock again at least it would take a little water.

Crumb ,,,,,,,

the 180 performance series amp should be pretty splash resistant and also the entire pcb is con-formal coated at the factory during assembly ,,,,,,

the front vent on the new Harleys, allows the water to just poor into the inside of the fairing when the bike is washed ,,,,,,, but the J&M amps and splash shields usually do a good job dealer with the water ,,,,,

have you had any more issues with the system since it dried out ? ,,,,,

No I haven't had anymore issues since, is there any splash shields that I could get for the 180 amp?
