I was wondering if anyone here has Adjustable Rider Backrest Mounting Kit
Part Number 52596-09A. Right now I've regular backrest which is too tall. I saw a bike that had adjustable back rest kit and his backrest was not tall and sat low. I would like to to have lower back support.

If I put adjustable backrest kit, what backrest should I ask for ? Does anyone here know part number ? I''l be using factory seat. Thank you.

The adjustable I have the pad can be raised up or down. There is a pin under the cover to raise or lower the pad itself.

I didn't realize it when I got it but the CVO seat/pillion can't take a driver backrest.

I had one on my last SGS and the OEM backrest set to high off seat @ lowest position for my liking. Modified it 2" to sit flush on seat @ lowest setting and still adjustable upward when needed.

here is the Rider Backrest I have. Bolted right on and fits well under the stock seat. I like it, wish it too would go a little bit lower, but still works good on my bad back. And it folds forward onto my seat when not in use, so getting on and off it's pretty easy to raise it after I throw a leg over, and easy to reach behind and flip it down as I'm getting back off. So I don't have to do the set my boot on my seat and slide on.

I had looked at a CVO seat in the HD shop & that is why I didn't want one, they look real good & look like they would be comfortable but when I did my 10,000 mile 3 week trip last May I needed my Back Rest for our 880 mile day.
I will be doing another 10,000 mile 3 week trip this year.

J- If I feel I need a backrest for a long trip, it's a simple change back to the OEM seat.

HD website for parts have several backrest pads to choose from. If your back rest you now have on the bike is HD , the pad should work on a adjustable back rest.
