So I have been hinting since the day we got the SGS that we needed a new exhaust to get rid of that sewing machine sound and make it sound like a "real" Harley. Out riding yesterday and an Indian pulled up next to us. Long story short, wife demanded new pipes ;) so talked to CM_Jeff @ Coastal Moto today and getting some V&H Twin Slash Rounds ordered!

My wife is the same way. She likes it louder. I have made my own slip-ons currently out of the stock exhaust (just drilling out baffles and taking out packing didn't sound good to me) and I think it sounds great but she still wants it louder.

You definitely have a keeper. My wife doesn't understand why I buy stuff for the bike.

Mine was talking to the salesman (listening to different bikes) about louder exhaust while I was in dealing with paperwork while buying my SGS, back in April.
I was acually kinda shocked, in a good way. lol

Guess us jarheads just know how to pick them :)

disorensen- good for you and thanks for supporting our sponsor!

Man what a difference these pipes make. They arrived an hour ago and now they are installed and she sounds like a Harley! Thanks to Coastal Moto and CM_Jeff for a great product at the best price. I highly recommend them.

So did you just put these on and keep the stock AF and stock map?

Just the slip ons and nothing else. It definitely gave me the sound I was looking for and I am not concerned about extra hp as it had all I needed to start with. If you are looking for great sound without any other hassle I highly, highly recommend these pipes and more importantly our sponsor Coastal Moto. Just contact cm_jeff, he will be of great assistance and more than likely give you the best price around.

When I can afford it, I am probably going to go the same route. That is, just putting on slip ons and leaving everything else alone so I do not have to tune. I don't care about more HP either. I just got rid of a turbo vrod with 150 RWHP, so nothing really can't compare with that so I decided I'm staying mostly stock this time.

But...I like the looks of the tailgunner Tritons. Dunno yet though, as I won't worry about this aspect until next year.

Thanks.

I just had the same Vance and Hines pipes installed on my SGS. Wow! I love them! I might as well admit it also - the wife made the final push. She made some rude comment about me riding a wimpy bike.

Well I love and understand the story my wife is the same way. Glad to hear you are enjoying the new slip-ons. And most of all that PLATE IS GREAT!!!!!!!!
