Hi everybody! I just traded my 2013 Switchback for a 2017 SGS, Love it so far, but have some wind buffeting issues Id like to improve on... Just changed out my stock windshield for a LRS 7" med. tint.... improvement #1, now Id like to try and eliminate the wind shooting up from both sides and meeting in the middle over my tank, in front of my face... The hard streams of air seem to be coming from around the turn signals, just below them, I think, but higher than where the fork fangs would do some good. Ive found add-ons on the internet for electra glide, road king, and road glide for this area, but not for my street glide... If I cant find some for sale, Ill make em myself, but if anyone on here knows of a source for these, Id really like it if you share it with me. Really looking forward to contributing and reading stuff on this forum... winters comin, and I need this to help with the cabin fever! cheers...jw

I had some buffeting at highway speed. I trailered the bike to Tenn for a trip we took. Before leaving I installed some tie down clips that go behind turn signals. That small clip must break up air flow. The buffeting was about gone during the ride we took. I have some carbon fiber sheets, I am going to make some small deflectors out of them and attach them to tie down clips. Should really help.

Hope you come up with a solution. Fork wind deflectors (fangs) do work for me but some of the wind they block helps keep my enging cool in the Summer. One solution creates another problem.

Switch to full synthetic oil, if you haven't already. It helps with the heat

Both Harley and Kuryakin make adjustable air deflectors for your SGS. They attach to the sides of the fairing. I just discovered the Kuryakin version. I like them better than the HD.

The biggest help I got were the fork fangs or fork wind deflectors. I also have the Harley fairing wind defectors so I can get more air to my body in summer heat. The windshield will also make a big difference and it's a combination that works the best.

I finally found the winning combo for me. An 8" LRS windshield with the lip at the top (it acts like an 11" Windshield, as far as blocking the wind), and HD brand fork wind deflectors. I love how both of these products look too. The fork deflectors give it a low and wide look to compliment the rear of the bike with saddlebags. The windshield is tall enough with the lip to block the wind (I'm 6' tall), without looking dorky

Many of us found this winning combo as well. If you need just a bit more coverage, add the fairing adjustable plexi lowers like the Ultra's have.
