Just delivered, now off to the painter. Still undecided if I want the grills painted or black. Decisions, decisions....

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

I like them. In my opinion I would have the grills painted.

Thanks guys! I agree, sat down with the painter and he had some good pictures of his work, painted grills it is.

Direct from Bad Dad Bill, they told me 2 weeks, it was a little shorter than that. I did find them on another site for 40 bucks cheaper after I ordered them, can't remember which though. Painter is going to clean up the undersides and respray a nicer flat black and he did an inner fairing in Daytona Blue for someone a while back so he thinks the paint will be really close. Of course it's the top of the line PPG stuff, not cheap. I should have them back in a couple weeks....can hardly wait.

Scott- make sure to post when they come back . . . .i nquiring minds want to see!

Scott just a suggestion, which u may already be doing, but think of anything else u wanted painted like the inner fairing or vent for example. It will save you some money.

Mojo- will do for sure!

bryan0994- unfortunately there's nothing else that was in the budget to be painted, this project has gone a bit over as it is. I do want the inner fairing done, but sadly that will have to wait. I'll most likely do that when I build my "play fund" back up to get the extended bags.

Totally understand that. I know my winter build went way over budget.

Well, after a lot of thought I was going to go with 6x9's, luckily I made a phone call first and found out they don't fit the 14+ lids (at least the Biketronics 6x9 with adapter). So, ordered the 5x7's and they arrived today. Great service from Biketronics, and they even include a rear speaker harness. Still waiting on the painter, but I'll be out of town so no updates on this until the end of the month....it's killing me to not have these installed yet.

157-2's are a great choice!

Thanks Spazz, I really wanted to get the 6x9's in there but this project has already spiraled out of control (nothing new for HD owners I suppose). Going to hook them up tomorrow just so I can hear them play.
