I was told by my dealer that to have SirusXm added to the Boom it costs $399 plus 1 hours labor .....

A total and complete rip off in my book ..... I mean, even my car had 3 months free Sirius .....

I've had my bike for 1 f%#king day and I'm already pissed at Harley ....

Two words ..... Pah Leeze !!!!!!

That's the Harley way. Anything less than a CVO is a blank canvas off the showroom floor. Not even sure if a CVO comes with XM. If it makes you feel any better, you're not missing anything. It works about as good as the 6.5 Boom radio...

Best way to go is to make a play list, put it on a flash drive and plug it into the USB port.

Thanks for the advice ..... I'll pick me up a 32 or 64 gig thumb drive this weekend ......

In my opinion xm/Sirius is a waste of money, with apps like Pandora and Spotify and all the other ones you can stream for free why pay for radio. It's just a matter of time before their out of business. Again just my opinion.

I've had Sirius/XM for over 10 years and enjoy it a lot. I listen to it all day at work and just like FM radio, you tend to hear the same songs in rotation. I use a thumb drive or play music off my phone.

I never use the radio. Use to play my iPhone Itunes playlist. Now I use a USB thumbdrive with about 600 songs on it. I found BOTH the CB and Sirrus modules less than satisfactory.

I use Sirius/XM on my phone and just stream it to my boom. Way cheaper and sounds fine.

What format are you using on your thumbdrives? Did you transfer your ITune library to it as is or did you use something to convert it first?

Sounds like my experience buying my first Harley. It came with a factory security system but the security system doesn't do much to protect my bike without the "optional" siren package. Charge me for a security system that doesn't let anyone know if someone is tampering with it? Don't get me started on the voice command option that has no microphone nor an input to add a microphone... Pointless option that I'm sure I paid for... Lol

There are other methods, but I used an app called Playlist Maker to copy the music and playlist information from iTunes.

For thumb drives, I needed no extra software. Mp3 and MP4 songs were drag n drop. Just make sure of two things:
>. NO Folders, all songs directly at root level.
>. Avoid symbols and numbers in the beginning of song titles, ie: (%1) 027 Santana Black Magic Woman

I remember a discussion about a way to increase the output level on a MP3 / MP4 on a usb drive form louder playback

Buy the module from board tracker and install yourself, takes about 10 mins - at least that lessens to sting than paying full cost plus labor

I use my ITunes and put the songs on Thumb drive IPod stays a home

I bought my XM module on line for $300. Install was plug and play, very easy to do.
