Now I'm getting 2 bars with a roof overhead very happy. Location wise I'm not to sure but it does work great!

Hmm. I don't think I've noticed an external XM antenna on any other bikes.
Good deal of you have a good signal while indoors.

I think I would end up kicking it a few times when I throw my leg over the saddle....

Yea so far I have not but really tired of the signal dropping in trees ect. Rode down a rode with a full tree canopy and it never lost a beat. Think this is going to be like the fork fangs they work so good but not that good looking. Cable wasn't long enough to go to the back of the bike as I was planning on making a mount at the antenna hole.

The antenna looks like the one you can get from the Sirius satellite store. Do a search on Sirius motorcycle antennas and it should come up.

Where did you get the antenna? Is it HD? The XM antenna that comes with the XM module loses signal if a bird flies overhead.

I thought about buying something like this, but then figured that HD used a proprietary antenna connector so you had to use their antenna.

same antenna but has the fakra adapter

This may sound silly but are there different XM modules that HD used on their Boom Infotainment system? I bought a 2014 SGS with the XM already installed and I have had those birds fly over interfering with reception. Frustrating as hell. Thank you.

Should be the same as the '15. I ordered the one WildChld linked. He has a '14. Be nice to have reliable XM.

HD uses a small antenna that is for cars. It uses the metal for reception. Seeing an HD doesn't have a lot of metal is the reason for poor reception. The new one does not depend on a metal base
