Mid to late April the weather is usually perfect. There is a great cabin rental near the mouth of the Cherohala Parkway in Tellico Plains (2 BR Creekside w/ full kitchen/$150 nite). At the other end is the Dragon. Enjoy!
No more trucks over 30' on the Tennessee side. Still plan on running it this coming summer after the York plant tour and Gettysburg.

The dragon is a must do just to say you've done it, and to check out the gift shops, but there are MUCH better and much more difficult roads out there. Maggie valley is a great hub to stay at, right in the center of all the riding. An EXCELLENT tool for riding out there, or anywhere in the us, is a butler map, pre enter their coordinates and have an amazing ride! www.butlermaps.com

September 2014 with "The Dragon". I was hinting for Spazz to join me on this ride but I'm afraid he'd want to move here afterwards and there ain't room enough for both of us !

FYI- My daughter is getting married 6/13, it will be a busy month for me. The TN HOG Rallye is the end of May in Cookeville, TN. I'm going to try and make that again this year.
May be a change of plans Mojo. There seems to be a ton of nice rides around the Dragon area. I think we are gonna do that another time because of time constraints. Instead we may head north to the finger lakes of New York and do Niagara Falls instead. Maybe head into Canada, if they will let me in, and come home through the U.P. of Michigan. If not, we will follow Lake Erie and head to Camp Perry to visit the CMP store and may visit a friend in Indiana.

Mojo, I have plans to be in Gatlinburg from 10 Sep.,15 through 15 Sep.,15. Meeting up with a fella and his bride from New York. Will be doing the Dragon and hopefully the Triangle and a few others. Could hook up for some grub , coffee, barley pop, etc.... if that works out. Mike
Well, I'd still like to head to Reno and ride some of those beautiful spots you post about. My wife has a classmate that lives in Reno that she'd like to visit at the same time. Won't be this year anymore. Too much going on all ready. Maybe next year. The problem is, she only gets 3 weeks of vacation and I get 5.

Anytime you 'PLAN' to head out this way... let me know first-hand. Dana works at The Eldorado Hotel/Casino... I'm sure she can do 'something' to sweeten the pot..
