We all started somewhere!

Well lets see it all started in the early 70's with dirt bikes then in 77 I got a CB650 and put a lot of miles on it until one night in the rain hit a corner too fast and ground off a little skin and lots of bell helmet. I see the same helmet offer these days as retro (REALLY). Then a replacement of a Honda Hawk 400 for about a year or so then along came the 1979 Honda CBX1000 6 cylinder and this thing was scary fast but really heavy. Cruising along highway 101 in northern California one afternoon along with another CBX and we come up on about 150 Hells angels traveling. Of course a couple of them have to test the new bikes out and it wasn't much of a race in those days 120 and I had another gear left to go. Bike was a lot of fun but sold it after 4600 miles to move to Nevada and promise of a good job. In 2012 after the kids were out on their own picked up a new 2011 Honda interstate at a good price thinking if I didn't like it anymore I could always sell it. Boy was I wrong I put 20,000 miles on it and was looking to buy one of the new Indians but couldn't get the price where I wanted. Went into the Harley dealership in Carson city not really looking for a bike just checking and road off on my SG the next day after the upgrades were completed. I picked this bike up on 4-12-14 and have over 2000miles on it already. Of course I already had a trip to Las Vegas planned so my first service was done there and then lots of riding around in that area which is fun but getting hot this time of year. My story and sticking to it.

When i turned 13, dad bought a older Suzuki 185 enduro. I needed some work. He taught me how to work on it before i got to ride it. I had that till around 16 yrs old. Then i got my D.L. and lost interest. Throughout those years my friend had an old retired race Suzuki 250 dirtbike that I put a bunch of miles on when we were out playing with the wheelers on the trails.

I went 10 yrs with out riding a bike and my wife said one day, I want to get a bike, go get your license.

I took a MSF class and then bought a 2001 Yamaha Vstar 1100 for cheap starter bike. I put 500 miles on by myself, then she climbed on. She fell in love, it didnt take long and we racked on 800 miles together. I come home one day to find 3 craigslist adds on the table. She said i love the bike, we are Americans and we will own a Harley. Pick one and go get it. I bought a 2004 fatboy. I had that for 1.5 yrs (2500 miles) and then traded it in for my 14 street glide. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it

Let's see....1982 Yamaha 250 IT,1985 Honda 350, nothing, 2008 Vulcan 1500 Classic, 2006 Street Glide... I started on a dirt bike around 14-15 then moved up to the little Honda and rode that and the dirt bike on granpas farm for years. Then years of nothing until a couple of years ago I ended up with the Kawasaki ,rode it till last month. I'm 48 years old this year and am kicking myself for not getting back into riding sooner

Ironheads!
My first bike was a '74 AMF Ironhead sporty around 1985. My brother gave it to me as he got big into Triumphs.
Since then AMF Irons are the only bikes I've ever owned until now. Had several '71,'72,'74 and '79's.
Just recently sold my '79 hardtail bobber with 18" apes on it and am currently in the building stages of a wicked '74 open primary, one off custom frame, street legal Ironhead drag bike. Good buddy of mine,Mike Chapel,is doing most of the machine work as I traveled up state Pa to get with Mike and share my vision. I work a mean swing shift,so he agreed to build the bike to my specs.
I recently purchased my 12 Glide, wanting something to go on longer rides with some comfort. All Ive ever owned were hardtails. Im now 46 and my spine is slowly falling out of my ass due to the hardtails.

Here goes. Dad had a Kawi KZ 750 I would joy ride while he was at work. I was 10 at the time. First time I was on a motorcycle. He was not real happy when the cops called him to pick me and his bike up from the cop shop. So he bought me a crappy dirt bike that was kept at my grandparents farm. Problem was I could not get to the farm when I wanted to ride. So I called a cab. Grandma called dad as soon as I walked in the door after she paid the cab fair. I stayed at the farm the rest of the summer rod everyday. And I learned don't park your bike behind the combine. Then a few more crappy dirt bikes that never ran and a dry spell at 18 I bought a 1997 GSXR 600 with custom Ducati faring I rode the snot out of that bike. Ol lady needed a car so it had to go. And another dry spell now 34 yo and I said its time to by a harley or it won't happen Ol lady gives the green light until she looks on CL and says WTF they want 18k for a used one what does a new one cost LOL. Green light turned to yellow. I dragged her to the open house at Sauk Prarie HD. she had no idea I was riding my SGS home that day but I did. I did let her pick the color since Daytona blue was not offerd. By far the best ridding bike I have ever ridden.

Well for me it all started with my best friend in upstate N.Y. My dad hated motorcycles but my buddy had two XR75's. Spent every summer in P.A. riding in the country. Fast forward MANY years I bought my first street bike in 2002 a SV650S. I loved the V-twin sound and torque. I had that bike for 12 years. Made a deal with the Ol lady that when I make Chief I'm buying a new bike. So the day after my daughters 17th birthday last month I rode home on my charcoal pearl SGS. Only 4 years late but I love the new bike. I always ask myself why did I wait so long.

40 years of street riding started for me as soon as I got my driver's license in 1974, bought a 1969 Yamaha 100cc. I then joined the Navy and moved around quite a bit so rather then ship my motorcyles, I would sell and buy a new one at my new location. they included in order a 1975 Honda CB360, 1972 Honda CB350, 1970 Honda CB450, 1975 Honda CB500T, 1982 Kawasaki LTD1000, 1975 Honda Goldwing GL1000, 1982 Suzuki GS850, 1982 Yamaha Virago 1100. I finally got out of the military and started making decent money, no longer needed to buy old used bikes..... bought a brand new 2005 Harley Dyna Super Glide followed by a 2008 Honda Goldwing GL1800, 2012 Goldwing GL1800. Although I really liked my Goldwings, as well as my other metric bikes, none of them gave me the same feeling as my Harley so I'm back with my 2014 Streetglide.

Mine a 1963 Ducati 125 it took me two summers of shining shoes and anything else I could to raise the $$$. Mom said I could have it if I paid for it myself. Brand new $425.00. I'm from Weatherford,TX. and the chief of police owned a motorcycle shop. The proudest moment of my life was him servicing my bike and me riding it home that first time.
Sure wish I could capture that feeling again.

First bike I ever rode was a "rented" Yamaha 90 for $20 a day! (1966)

Was a little fat tired honda trail 50 I think back in the really late sixties or early seventies

well, i started with a 2010 with a sportster iron 883 when i was 31, it was denim silver with denim black, it have 14" burly apes and roadking rear air shocks. rode the hell outta that bike and then traded it in for a 2014 street glide special vivid black, now i have phase 7 led headlight, custom dynamic red led in the rear and halos up front also install rineharts all chrome slip-ons. kinda wish i still had the sporty, it was a fun bike to ride. oh, im 35 now.
