?? Apes on the 2014 SGS ??

Someone is claiming they did 16" bars WITHOUT new hyd lines... ( on another forum ) a major re-route would be in order for sure....

The only extension you need for up to 12's is the NAMZ kit.... I went with 8" extensions. This kit is for HAND CONTROLS....left and right side.

The Throttle By Wire (TBW) is plenty long enough to handle up to 16-18" bars... they lay extra in there back and forth. The only thing you mess with here is taking the pins off the MOLEX connector to fish the wires thru bars... making sure you put all the pins back in correctly and in the right order.. there are only 6 wires...

I did NOT extend the clutch or brake lines on the Vindikta 12" bars. However it required rerouting both lines outside of the fairing.

Kosi, how do you like your Vindikta bars? I just ordered mine last week.

They are perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. So much more comfortable and look great.

Hey spazz, I'm looking at some bars LIKE yaffe 12" but it has a 10" pull back not 9 " like on the yaffe , otherwise all measurements the same

My questions is , is there still room for stock break lines and clutch line with the 1" difference

Yes... you should be fine.... the only difference is pullback. You will have to do a slight reroute on lines at the neck for a little slack on the brake side, but that's it. easiest way without disconnecting the lines is to remove the lever and fish the res and line down behind the triples and re-orient the lines to move them... that's it.

Hi all. First time posting on here. I have a 2014 Street Glide Special. I ordered 12" LA Choppers Twin Peaks ape hangers for it. I have made several phone calls and received a TON of mixed messages on what I will need to change out in terms of hydraulic lines and electrical wires. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to do? I want to make sure I get this right, but would also like to avoid spending unnecessary money. Thanks!

First off WELCOME from Reno, NV ( Make sure you post up an intro under NEW MEMBERS section )

Hyd lines with 12" bars will be fine... I have 12" Yaffe's and didn't need new lines... all you need is 8" NAMZ wire extensions for hand controls... TBW is plenty long enuf.... You don't have to disconnect hyd lines at all... just loosen enuf to orient them ( with NO LEAKS,., keep them snug ) and a reroute is easy by taking the brake lever off and feeding the unit down thru the triples and free up some line.

Plenty of threads on bars here... check them out....

Thanks Spazz! Local HD shop here in NY wanted me to spend $600+ to redo everything. Really appreciate it!
