Hello,
I have a 2006 Harley Davidson Street Glide that runs great, however I seem to have some form of an issue that even the mechanics can't pin point without trying to solve one problem at a time and costing me $$$ to fix something that wasnt broke in the first place.
Issue: Bike runs great in cooler temps, idles fine and sound awesome. Once the bike seems to warm up and I let off the throttle the bike seems to dang near go back to stock sound now my bike is pretty loud...okay very loud. You can feel a difference as well. If I lightly get back on the throttle it picks back up. It only happens when I am off throttle or down shifting and RPM's are around 2200. Was in Sturgis last year, took it to Harley and one of the mechanics test drove it. When he came back he was stumped! "This bike is great for coming home late at night because its quite when you let off." Another mechanic in SD said "It has to be the crank position sensor." Changed it an no difference. Another mechanic said you might have a pin hole in your fuel line in the tank. Took fuel cap off, engaged fuel pump and not bubbles appeared. I am not postive if it is the manifold gaskets could be causing the issue (Tried the carb cleaner around manifold). Changed plugs last year as well. I purchased the bike a year ago and am not 100% familar with all the work that has been done. I was told that the engine has had the big bore kit installed. Bike has V&H Staight shots. Cant seem to find a Power Commander or anything else.
Any advice?
