2012 SG Front Brake Lever Frozen

Recently my 2012 SG front brake lever got VERY stiff. The lever would travel maybe 1/2" and meet major resistance. If I really crushed the lever the brake would suddenly grab, but it was very unpredictable and uncontrollable.

I rebuilt the front master cylinder, and tested it before reinstalling. Lever operation was very smooth, but after reassembly and reinstallation on the bike the problem persisted. I then rebuilt both calipers, and still the problem persists. If anything, the lever pull is even harder than before.

I'm at my wits end with this. Any suggestions before I bite the bullet and take it to the dealer?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

Ride Safe,

Nick

Nick,

I have a 2010 SG with the same exact issue. The whole reason for joining this forum today...I'm beginning to think there may be an obstruction in the brake line going to the splitter block under the bottom fork brace. Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of this quickly!
