Dealer looked at my vent today. Harley told them to put in a new button. It's on order now.

Dealer called me and said he ordered the parts to replace mine, was told they are on a 3 week back order...so hopfully it will be done before july! i figured i payed ALOT of money for my bike...it shouldnt come broken...

It wasn't the button on mine that was bad, it was the flimsy flapper. My dealer put in both.

Update on mine: The flap and button were replaced (warranty) and it worked fine . . . . . until the weather got hot! Flapper started to sag again so I went back to Plan B; Clear packing tape and taped it up/open. No more buzzing (again). I don't believe the button assy. is at fault, its the flap itself.
Its such a badly designed part.

I have not had a problem since I lined the flap with foam tape... nice and quiet still

Spazz, could you shut it now if you have to?
With ease... all it does is create a small bit of pressure to the back of the flap when open... my dealer loved my fix and is doing it with a slight variation.

Hmmm, I'll have to consider it, describe the fix and material used (again) for me please.

Ill take a pic... 2" wide 1/8" thick adhesive backed foam tape... I lined the underside of the flap and trimmed it..

Mine started buzzing last night amazing how loud it is. Will be doing the Spazz mod today.

Spazz, did you put the foam tape on the housing or the flapper? Thanks in advance, Airhead

Well i had mine replaced at the dealership a month ago and have had no problems with it since...hot weather...rain...nothing has made the noise come back....im with alot of guys that want to"do it yourself" but i payed ALOT of money for my bike and i expect them to fix anything that i find wrong with it. Ima quality assurance inspector at Boeing and perhaps that helps me in this kind of situation. i expect much better products from american made products. otherwise id just buy a honda...ouch...hurts to say that !anyway they fixed it ! not a problem any more.

Sorry this got lost....

I removed the flap and placed the foam on the backside of the flap... so when it's open, the foam actually made the flap tighter against the housing not allowing it to move. To date... no issues and zero buzz. When installed this way.. you can't see the foam at all.

Funny I all of a sudden got this same buzz then it disappeared weird. glad it did cause it was very annoying!
