2014 street glide problem

Well first let me say thank you to all the input and advice.. After I disassembled and reassembled the bike and eveything else that goes along with it... I had just pinched the hand control cables.. BUT ITS FIXED! Lessons learned to say the least. Glad I found the issue though. As soon as I loosened the screw it all came on, so I didn't have to buy anything for repairs in the end. Just got some extra fuses and such during the troubleshooting portion. Thanks again.... But one question. What part of the hand intros casing is the wires supposed to come out of? Side, bottom? Couldn't find a real dedicated opening.

RODZ, I could not determine a dedicated slot or opening to position or seat the wire myself, I even went and looked a new bike to get an idea for what right looks like like, this may not be the correct advice but, make sure the handle for the brake/clutch is seated properly in the control housing (there is a little bit of a groove to flush up beside it) and make sure the grip side is properly seated (this technique will vary from stock grip and after market ones), lastly, when tightening the clamp halves on the brake/clutch be cautious of the wires, try to spread the wires flatly across the clamp halves, tighten opposite side first. there is a very small opening on the housing but not the clamp halves. a small mirror might help observe the wire position as you tighten the clamps. If you crack the code on that, let me know.

Can you send a picture of how it's routed now, I'll take one of mine and you can compare

I took some pics of new bike, not clear though. However, this is what I come up with. at the top of the bar near the hand grip is a is a crimp or crease on the bottom side (6 0'clock position) of your stock bars, just forward of the opening for the internal wiring hole. on the stock bar set up, the control head wiring sits in the groove of the crimped portion of the bar outside of the two clamp halves. there should be no wiring interfering with the flushed mating surfaces of the clamp halves. if you look at your stock bars, you will understand what I mean about the groove in the bars. so, your after market bars with an opening for internal wiring should be elongated enough to allow the clamp to clamp up around the open portion to feed the wire through it and not clamp around the wire bundle. I hope that makes sense in my description. I think if you look at the stock bars, the under surface in the grip area, it will be alot more obvious of the issue.

Sorry I hadn't gotten the pick, but mine run out the side of the control housing. If I recall right that's where it was to start with. Check out this YouTube at around 6:45-7:00 mark and see if you can see how this guy's is as well.

I did watch his video several times and took notes, he just didnt mention any of the small details or pitfalls that are very critical to installation or removal. good video and very helpful, but failed to mention some critical details for the rookies like me. lol

this is a pic of the stock bike setup

I never noticed the groove! I'll have to go look. I rode to work yesterday and all seems to be well. I need to adjust my clutch side position a little anyways, so I'll check that out tonight. Thanks for that. BUT! I do have new bars so I wonder if its grooved as well.

Yeah I feel the same way, but it did help me a lot and save me $$!
