All.. Is it necessary to remove the little trip reset switch cap when removing the controls for a bar swap or will they come off if I leave it on? Any info? Thx..

Per H-D:
To remove one hand control module.
a. Remove two screws and the handlebar clamp.
b. Remove hand control lever assembly.
c. For CLUTCH side only: Gently pry up trigger finger
switch cap with a small, flat blade screwdriver. Slide
cap left to remove.
d. For EITHER side: Loosen switch housing captive
screws. Remove switch housing
The switch will lift slightly when you pull up on it... thats ok, but NOT enuf to get the tab off... lift GENTLY with the screwdriver on the LEFT SIDE of switch and slide left at the same time. If you look under the switch.. you will see where you need to lift at to get the tab over the lock point point holding it in place
Kinda pain in the a$$, I finally got it off and heard a snap and it went flying onto the floor thought I'd broken it but it was good and it went back on much easier then it came off
