Accessory mode, should tail lights be on?

Finding my way around my 2017 SGS
and I noticed that my rear tail lights and plate light illuminate while in accessory mode...

Should this happen?

Also gives off a whine until I press the brake lever,
which then illuminates the brake lights and the whine stops until it’s released

TIA

It shouldn't do that whining thing but the bikes over here (USA) are wired and lighted different. Wondering if the first owner put a flashing brake light module on or something like that.

think the whining is a dodgy LED...as it stops the moment the brake lights illuminate.

I only happen to notice because I was sat in a very quiet garage upgrading the infotainment firmware at the time.

Just wondered why the rear lights where even on, when it disables the headlight in accessory mode.
Guess it's so you can be seen if you at the side of the road or similar in accessory mode.

def appears to be the license plate LED whining

Do SGS come as standard with an LED for that white light?
or are they usually an incandescent bulb (trying to figure out if the previous owner swapped it out)
