I look at the shelves in my garage and I see multiples of glass cleaners, Spray wax, Plexiglass cleaners, polish and on and on. Things I don't even use anymore! My Harley dealer started carrying a product a couple of years ago called Bugslide. Not only does it dissolve and clean off the bug fatalities from your bike but I also have been using it almost exclusively on everything else on the bike except the tires! It is a really marvelous product. Maybe 2 times a year I'll do the spray and wax thing but Bugslide is my goto product for my SGS. ;)
Amazon, JP Cycles, most HD dealers and others carry it. If you're not familiar with it get the small starter bottle and see for yourself! (I am Not affiliated with this company, just offering my personal input about a good product)

NOTE:! Not for Denim Finishes ! ! !

The video sure made it look easy, I may have to try some of that, thanks!

Go to Jackie Blue Wear for the best deal on bug slide and another product that they have is diamond finish same type packaging as bugslide. I've used both on my 2009 SG

I'm really big on Adams Polishes. Even if you don't use them they have tutorial video's for everything you could ever want to know how/what to clean. But I may give this a look too -

I saw this when I was up in Minneapolis at a Harley Dealer and even took a picture of it to check on when I got back, but forgot. Thanks for reminding me I'm hitting Amazon and ordering it now. The video sold me.

Yep I use bugslide all the time! I can only get it at one dealer around here, but I really like it!

I bought a SGS that is the color and finish of dry dirt and dust. According to H-D the bike will: "much like fine leather, develop a patina that shows a bike's character".

Amazing! Now that's some great marketing. Bug splats and road grime just add to the character of the bike. Now this is my way of thinking! No cleaning required.

I hope I can ride enough to get that great maintenance-free finish!

LOL You better hope she NEVER fully develop Hulkss. I like that color though on the underdeveloped one. If they had that color available for the "regular" SG, I think I would've chose that one. No regrets with my Big Blue Pearl though. They're all slippery on the inside I guess.

I started using bugslide after a friend of mine showed me how well it works and it can be used on the entire bike.

Someone told me once to try using outdoor Windex to wash the bike, I have to say it does a great job on Chrome.

Can you use it on denim Black bikes. I hear you have to use a specail cleaner.

i've heard just to just use nothing more than windex to clean the deniem bikes. its safe for their clear coat and works very well. also, its pretty cheap too

I use a non-ammonia glass cleaner that comes out of the can as white foam. It makes bug removal easy, breaks through dirt and grease, and leaves no streaks. Use it on a denium bike and a clear coat bike with no issues. I get it at SAMs club, three cans for less than $10.

I guess all the dealerships have their preferences down here its candy coat
Great stuff!
