I installed the Hogtunes REV 200 system two weeks ago, and I'm not very impressed or happy with it. I'm thinking about getting the J&M ROKKER XX setup, and was wondering who may have it, and how does it sound? The Hogtunes sounds awesome sitting still, but with a demand on it, it gets all distorted and cuts in and out...the guys at Hogtunes are telling me that the amp is going into a protective mode. I don't have time or patience for this crap.

I have done a lot of research. I read quite a bit that Hogtunes = not impressive.

I did spend the big $$$ and buy J&M. I was not impressed with that either. I sold the speakers and now have the amp sitting there.

So now I have what my sig shows. I like it the best thus far but now need another flash as J&M's recommended flash is not the same. RF's flash seems to be more reasonable from what I have learned thus far.

When you install the HogTunes amp, there is a plug that you DO NOT connect. This plug mates up perfectly to a plug in the HD harness. If you connect that plug it will do exactly what you are describing.

The only issue I have is not with HogTunes. The system sounds great when parked, but when you start the engine it changes the EQ map...Which it did before the HogTunes upgrade...Then the faster you go, the more bass it drops. The stock HD system had to do this otherwise the bass at highway volume would blow the stock speakers into next week. The HogTunes speakers can handle it. I'm still trying to find a Harley tech who understands the system enough to reset the EQ map so it retains some bass at highway speeds.

I wish Harley would train their dealers.

Nope, I did not plug in that lone harness to the HD harness.

HogTunes should make it right. When I wend amp/speaker shopping, I tried a few different systems as highway speeds on other bikes. I tried everything from HogTunes to a 4 speaker 600 amp custom built Rockford Fosgate setup. At 70MPH they all sounded about the same, so I went for the budget option. The system would rock if I could find a HD tech that could change the EQ map.

I've been in touch with them, finally, and they are going to send me a new amp that has the protection circuit "tweaked" to overcome this issue. We shall see...

Call Cycle Sounds , the owner will get it right and he will answer his phone just about anytime for unlimited support. My Cycle Sounds system with amp and 4 speakers ROCK

I just recently purchased the J&M xx system, 2 speaker 330 watt system. The new J&M system does not need the bike to be flashed, the RCA cable has a "magic box" that does what ever built into it that make it almost a line level input into the amp. I vented the speaker boxes as recommended on the J&M site, and I'm here to tell you, the system rocks!!! It's a fairly easy install, and the support from J&M was great. Remember it's only a 2 speaker system, but at 70MPH on the highway, it's clear as a bell.

I would buy it again!

I hear you Kartracer-10. Im enjoying my J&M system as well!

Well, three amps later, the right speaker blew...I'm done. I contacted J&P for a full refund, and also contacted Pez and Scott at Hogtunes and thanked them for trying to help. So for now, I'm back to stock. The saga continues...

Any of you guys have Biktronics audio? How are they?

corey45k- I have the Biketronics speakers but different amp. I started with a used RF300 amp and just the BT 7.1 speakers in the fairing, it was good but I just couldn't leave it alone so I put 5x7 speakers in my lids and swapped a Soundstream amp in. I posted a video here in the Audio section. You can't really go wrong with BT's lifetime warranty either.

for 2013 and earlier buy the Jensen HD1BT stereo it rocks with the hogtunes amp and the biketronics speakers
