thinking about putting more light on the bags, going with either the Custom Dynamics Plasma Rods or the HD Electra Glo Saddlebag lights with the black frame and smoked lens. anybody have any thought on either of these?

I have the Harley SB lights. I like them and chose them for the side vision. In other words you can see the lights from a side angle when applied. plasmas are very cool, but the usual mounting position is for rear sight only.

Ha! I just put the HD saddlebag lights on mine. The smoked lenses kind of disappear and they are pretty bright. Looks good and simple installation.

I did the Plasma Rods and love them. Only negative with the is you cannot see them from the side.
My good friend did the HD bag LED's. They really change the rear look of the bike. Only negative is when you take your bags off for any reason you have to disconnect the light plugs.

I did the Custom Dynamics plasma rods as well. Very happy with them any change to the look is minimal but lots more light on the back.

I think maybe I'm leaning towards the HD bag lights because of the extra look from the side, and maybe a single plasma rod on the chopped tour pak just under the lid as a 3rd brake light?

I had the Electra Glo LED Saddlebag Run/Brake/Turn Lamp on my old bags but took them off when I added the stretched bags....I liked them but don't think I will put them on the new bags.

man, that's tempting Aviator, but I'm leaning more and more towards the CD Plasma Rods in brake/turn only to preserve the look of the rear end when they're not on. Thanks though!

I posted this in the other bag lights post....I installed these flexible led light bars from Chrome Glow and hooked them up to a fleeks strobe module. They strobe for 3 cycles each time the brake is applied then turn steady on. They are called amp'd super-z led flexible arrays and are wired for run turn and brake. You can't tell from the picture but they are really bright. This is just the running light mode....the brake lights are really bright. I was going for the brightness, the side visibility and the turn signals blinking off and on instead of half power/ full power. Really happy with them but this set up will set you back about $300.

These LED light rods are simply heated up a bit then shaped to conform to the surface that you're going to attach it to. Once that's complete they stiffen up when then cool down. Then simply clean the surface and apply the light arrays which already have the 3M tape attached. When off, they almost completely disappear since the tubing is smoke color with clear LEDs inside. Also, I wired them to waterproof quick detach plugs for easy bag removal. The hardest part was figuring out which wire harness that I had to order, the custom dynamics turn signal decoder and how to wire everything to the fleekz run turn brake module. The set up cost more because I didn't want to cut the OEM wire and just used wire harnesses to tap into the turn run and brake functions.

Here's the LED light arrays from Chrome Glow and how they look at night. I'm going to try and upload a video to show the strobe and signals.

jm1797, could you post a picture of what they look like when during the day, both on and off?

Here some more daytime photos. The initial ones I sent are posted above. First photo is LEDs off, second is running light, and third is brake solid on. It's not letting me upload videos to show the brake light strobe.

Close up photo of light array just under the lids. Smoke tubing blends in pretty good.
