So, is it my imagination or do the number of radio complaints go down with the cold weather? 😄

I miss the complaints! Or do I? Lol

I've come to terms with BBx. I just tell myself I don't need to be using it when I'm riding anyway. The bike more than makes up for those short comings.

For all of it's short comings I have learned to live with the infotainment system. My only remaining wish is the improvement of Bluetooth options. I wish Harley would at least offer a Bluetooth headset that is compatible with their radio or release a software upgrade that makes it compatible with existing Bluetooth headsets already on the shelves at your local electronics store.

Boom audio complaints...

I went for the CVO audio cable and wired Harley headset to get the full infotainment use

I just updated my Boom! Box 6.5 to the latest software 1.18.3. I'm using the iPhone 6. To my amazement, I can actually stream via Bluetooth from my playlist, iHeart and SirusXM. I can even toggle between songs on my playlist going both back and forward. So far, no locking up with no functionality and I'm able to toggle. So far so good. Are we finally getting software to run the system? Today I'm a happy Boom! Box user.

jdavidm57- This technique has been mentioned several times in previous threads. For me, it was the best way to circumvent the BB shortcomings. Glad your happy and welcome to SGF from Nashville!

I can not wait for an aftermarket replacement for this pos radio.

Why wait.... here ya go:cool:

Boom Box issues aside - I'm OK with it as is but for those that aren't, you can sell your factory unit and buy this one, mount and speakers with the cash !

I just got my bike and got my phone paired and wanted to pair my scala rider system into the bb but it won't pair with it. What a piece of crap system. You would think Harley would get a software update for this mess. I don't want to wire in a new system.

Ok, sorry if this got hashed out somewhere else and I just can't figure out how the search feature works. I have been entertaining having a CVO style 7 pin installed so I can actually hear the audio while riding (I wear a full face).

Current plan is to replace the piece on the tank centerline with one that has the pin embedded - similar to the ultras and CVOs. Seen some that were mounted on the plate on the right hand side (opposite the iPOD/MP3 holder) and 1) lots of those installed looked kinda cheap to me and 2) don't know if I want that cable attached to my helmet stretching and relaxing as I turn.

Easiest solution might be to amp up and add spekers to the bag (and I may do that later anyway).

Any thoughts, opinions and/or experiences?

Hi 49State legal. I thought the US has more states?

I Have the audiocable on the side of the tank near the left side close to the seat. The cable sits against the body while riding. In windy conditions I do not vahe the extra drag from the cable compared to the fairing position of the cable. And no weight issues although minimal, not while riding or turning. I'm super content with this audio cable position

Thanks, Loog. Had not thought about that and it has got to be cheaper than replacing the tank piece. And, by 49 States, I mean if you have a stage one exhaust and air, you are likely out of compliance with the state of California.

That's what I did also. Works great and only cost $65.00

49StateLegal, Off topic , but the sound ruling is why I have a Jekyll and Hyde exhaust with adjustable sound (by button selection):p:p
