Comfy Seat for My Wife???

Yes, they modify the stock seat. I had the saddle shaved and narrowed (Super Narrow mod) and the passenger area widened (Single Wide mod), on mine. I also had them install memory foam in the saddle, passenger area and both backrests. They can even install heaters in the seat if you want them to.

Where'd you get the rider back rest. I used to think they were for old guys, but it looks comfortable as hell....and if you don't mind, what was the cost to mod your seat, and what's the turnaround time? Thanks

I have been emailing back and forth with Mean City as well. Which modification option(s) did you go with? I mostly want to get the seat modified for my wife, but considering modifications for myself as well. I am thinking about doing the Wide Double Decker to try to get as much comfort as I can for my wife. Not sure about for me. So far I am happy with the driver's seat (like you said in your post, I am very happy with the seating position and height). I honestly have not logged enough hours as of yet to get a good feel for comfort level. Attached are a few pictures that Mean City sent me of a HD street glide seat with the Wide Double Decker passenger modification made.

I am having the Wide Double Decker passenger mod, and the Rider Double Decker mod done to my stock seat. I can't wait to try it out when I get it back next week. I'll definitely post a full report!

I got both backrests at the dealership. They are very comfortable now that they have the memory foam in them. I paid $345 to have the seat and both backrests done, plus an extra $100 for the express service. It was worth every penny.

That's way better than $700 pricetag for a solo seat I was lookin at. Thanks!!!!!

That would be great. Looking forward to seeing your report!!!

I purchased the Mustang Touring One-Piece Smooth Seat 76033 for $364.00 from Dennis Kirk. The seat is very comfortable (almost put the wife to sleep on an all day ride). The seat puts you in a straight up non slouching position, it has a nice not too firm not too soft cushion. Great for long rides. The seat also absorbs quite a bit of the road that the shocks don't.

My HD Tallboy seat has been rebuilt but I am still not satisfied so yesterday I pulled the trigger on a Mustang Summit Super Touring seat made especially to fit only 14 and up Rushmore Harley's. I hope this is my last stop in seat shopping. I will post a review as soon as I have logged sufficient mileage.

Thumbs up on MCC. Over the winter I had the super narrow with 1inch forward and the single wide along with gator added to the inner panels. They did an outstanding job, price was right and the sear is super comfortable. Highly recomended!

Hey Sal - Just curious if you got your modified seat back yet, and what you think of it?

I did in fact get it back last week, I just haven't been able to put it to the test of a ride over 150 miles to be able to give my thoughts on it quite yet.

So far, I've only ridden maybe 30 or 40 miles at a time on it this last week, and it looks great, and feels great at least on these shorter rides. The real test will be hopefully this weekend if I can squeeze a nice long ride in.

As for the passenger pillion, the wide double-decker modification is true to its name, the pillion seat is noticeably wider, and instead of tapering down it stays nice and thick to the back of the seat. The 'ol lady says she can't feel much difference over the Mustang seat I replaced, but she's super picky (she's always complained about her butt hurting after every ride, on every seat, with every sissy bar, on every bike I've ever had - Haha!), and as long as its not noticeably worse - I think it looks better, it was cheaper, and so far I'm a hell of a lot more comfortable just by being back in the stock sitting position (the Mustang moved me up and back).

Once I get the chance to put a few hundred miles on it in one day, I'll give my official nod of approval (or fist shake of disapproval) - but so far it's looking like a winner!

Great to hear! Thanks for the initial feedback. I am still trying to decide what to do with mine for sure. For the most part I am somewhat happy with the comfort level of the stock seat (for me), but I'm almost thinking it would be nice to adjust the ride position back slightly, and I'm thinking the addition of the memory foam would probably help with the overall comfort (especially for the long rides). We put on just over 200 miles on Memorial Day, and my butt was definitely starting to get a little sore after riding 100 - 120 straight miles without a break.

As for my wife, she suffered through with the stock pillion seat (fortunately not too many whines and gripes). I definitely would like to get the wide double decker upgrade for her. I think that would make a huge difference for her. In your opinion, would you say the wide double decker pillion upgrade is a major upgrade from the stock pillion setup? I mostly just want to make sure that putting the money into this upgrade will make a significant difference for her comfort level.
