Decision time

nicholasa631 - I faced the same question in late October 2016. Money had no weight in my decision. I've owned an FXR, FLHT, and most recently a Dyna Super Glide Sport. I rode both the 2017 and 2016 Street Glide, and I bought the 2016. I have only 1300 miles on it so far, but I'm very happy with it. I mean no disrespect to any of the M8 fans, and I wish them no bad luck, but I haven't known a single first year power train, car or bike, that didn't have demons needing to be exorcised. My buddy bought a M8 Ultra Limited two weeks after I bought my bike. Right now it's sitting in the dealership (for the third time) due to a transmission leak that they cannot locate. HD is sending a new transmission case for them to swap in. I hope the M8 turns out to be rock solid and that my buddy's bike was just a one-off anomoly, but...
I'm sure you will love your 2016.

I'm glad to hear that the Rushmore 2014-2016 models compare well to the new 2017 M8's as I'm continuing to "enhance" and invest in my '14 model.

Glad to hear everything worked out in your favor. Nothing like the search and the pondering on a new bike and the plan coming together. Enjoy your new SG...
