Did I lose horsepower AND torque?

Just finished a stage one upgrade on my 2016 FLHXS but here's the deal . . . I already had Rinehart slip-ons and after installing a SE air filter BEFORE upgrading the headers I had a noticeable increase in throttle response and acceleration. I remapped with a FP3 and was impressed with the performance. THEN I installed Rush High Output headers and once again remapped with FP3 and I'll swear I lost power and throttle response. Is this possible????

Yes, any time you load new maps into the ECM many things are possible, both good and bad.

Maybe the exhaust is too "open" for just a Stage1, a bit of back pressure helps with the feel of power that comes with low end torque.

Yep you lost some low end torque but picked it up in hp on the top end. get a good set of cams and bump up compression and you will really make those pipes and air cleaner useful.
