I recently purchased a set Harley brand speakers as an upgrade they are Boom audio 6.5 inch speakers
Part number. 76000317
The sound was good but is now distorting
Are Hogtunes speakers any good ?
Looking for a quality plug and play speaker with out adding an amp
Cheers

FYI those speakers suck, I blew out two pair, and after the second warranty replacement, I never installed em, and went with the infinity kappas with the fosgate 300x2 punch amp, if you want a nice sound you're probably going to need an amp. A lot of guys on here also have used hogtunes....

My buddy had those and after we rode for awhile we installed Rockford fosgate power setup with in fairing amp. Way better sound than Harley's speakers. I run Rockford fosgate on mine as well

Unfortunately in Australia we pay a premium for any parts for our bikes
The Harley speakers cost $300 and most speakers and amp set ups with exchange rate and shipping will pass $1000 pretty quickly and incur import tax
And if I have any problems ( which with a Major American aftermarket supplier who when contacted didn't bother to reply )
We are out of pocket
Just trying to grab better sounds than factory
Great bike but really cheap in places

Speakers won't make a great deal of difference. I recommend a good amp and speaker set up. Lots of good choices out there including some from a forum sponsors, No Cage Audio.

Guess I'm in the minority but I think the stock speakers sound fine. If I was gonna do anything I would add the saddlebag ones.

I have the hog tunes and like them. Just a word of caution stay away from the digital amp 2 channel. It works on the same frequency as your radio and you will have no reception. I only took it in 5 times over the course of a year to learn this. Hogtunes ended up swaping it out with a 4 channel analog amp and now sounds great.
Just my 2 cents worth.

What are you riding? I have the Hawg Wild and it's okay with my Kicker 300 w amp, but J&M Rokker has a 7.25" speaker that fits the street glide - I'm ordering it this week

Custom Soundz has a great system with focal speakers and a 600w amp. My friends say they enjoy my music when they are behind me....and its clear. total price I paid was 1900 for amp and 2 front speakers...is it cheap...hell no..but it works and sounds better than any other system I have heard.....it is not cheap owning a Harley...especially if you want good stuff on the bike

The name is Soundz Customz and I agree they have the best systems and the cleanest clearest sound.

I'll through my .02 in for Soundz. He has some new speakers that he just designed. So impressive. I'm a huge supporter.

Ditto for Soundz... can't beat them for quality.

Peter Jensen (owner of Soundz) has gone above and beyond for many of us and his new Carbon Series speaker lineup are off the hook! He worked long and hard with designing them in conjunction with Hybrid Audio Technologies to get the best performance, clarity and range of any speaker designed for a motorcycle. Just a tidbit of info for you...

I have the Hogtunes 4 channel amp with Infinity Kappa speakers. Sounds good going down the road, it's clear while I'm doing 80 down the road

Just a follow up on my speakers
Contacted my dealer and after emails and calls they want my bike so they can assess the speakers
I live over an hour away from dealer so will be leaving the bike with them
Appreciate everyone's input
I would have liked to put an amp on my bike but improving my lighting is next
I live in an area with a lot of kangaroos so good lighting is important
