Flash EQ Files for Boom audio HU's- a few details

Gotchay...and yes... I have a working fader with 02 and I have serious though about hookin the rears separate with another set of connectors from Peter. My concern is doing that will deem a re-tune by Peter on the oscilloscope to get it dialed in correctly.

Seems the HDF thread on this issue that is quite long is stating the same issues with 02.
Adding the rears drops the gain coming out of the 1 output. Peter told me I just had to switch to 4 ch no other tweaks were needed. I faded it to the rears 2 notches sounds great except the bass distortion at high volume

I had the stock Flash, had the dealer flash per Biketronics recommendations, wound up with 128 OFF bin.
Lost ability to control bass and treble, it is there and moves but no change in sound...thats why I said flat EQ.
As far as the reset...did nothing, I was just simply stating I tried going back and forth with the software just to see. I even tried the reset via diag menu with the bike running, that is how I found that I have 128 ON with the engine running and 128 OFF with the engine off.

The setup I have is the Biketronics amp/speaker and speaker brackets for the 14 and up model.
128 OFF and 128 ON which gives the flat EQ and no Bass and Treble adjustment and the software is the 1.19....
I had 128 it sucks don't care what Bill says. But he I should 100% on with the on and off bins. I tried for about 2 days fooling with the bin files but they are flashed by the DT so nothing works. J&M use to use the 128 bin but there flash now gives you the 02 bin. I have flashed mine with DT several times now trying different bins so far 02 has been the best.

So I took the scooter out on its maiden voyage for 2016 times day stopped at HD of Madison. To ask how much to flash my radio so I can install the Soundz Customs audio I bought from Bryan. I did not get the Soundz instructions. As far as I'm can tell I need to have the radio flashed to. 2 amp on and 8 speakers on. Is this correct? What's the deal with the bin file? Do I need to tell the dealer what bin file to flash? Th dealer said s doing the flashing and for free along with the nav maps update.

The BinFile is the cfg file the head unit uses with the flash.... If the flash is done for 2 amp on 8 speaker on.... you should be at 135_OFF. I have been battling flashes for a while and trying different flash setting to achieve the best sound possible. This is what my old 14SGS is at right now. Right now I Can't tell you 100% if I have the correct flash in my 15RGS. I have played with it so much.. LOL! I THINK I have it set at 2 amp on 4 speaker ON and I am set at 02_OFF. I need to take it back in and reflash with Peter's instructions when I can to make sure I get it spot on.

The BinFile is an indicator to the configuration of the EQF file that is actually used by the head unit.... it cannot be changed manually or selected... it is configured via the flash selections within Digital Tech.

How do you check to see what bin file is programmed in the head unit? I know it here someplace but I can't find it.

With bike off... press and hold the power button (mute) on deck... turn ignition on. Keep holding power button and press accept button.

From there... the menu comes up. Click Audio... then EQ.

Scroll down until you see your hilighted binfile

My bike is a 2015 FLTRUSE which ships with a BOOM! Stage I setup and the stock file is 15_OFF.bin with the ignition on and motor not running. Is there a different file governing when the motor is running? And is there a way to check?

Now that the MOCO may have (hopefully) worked the bugs out, I'm planning on upgrading to the BOOM! Stage II setup by upgrading to the 4 biamped speakers, associated harnesses and the second (tourpak)amp. Does anyone know what the correct flash file should be for that setup? To avoid blown speakers I plan on having the radio flashed prior to my installation followed by having the tech deactivate the radio by pulling the fuse. I'll replace the fuse when my install is complete and "cross my fingers" LOL.

When you are flashing for Boom crap... the techs know what to do... it'd us with aftermarket components that need to worry about the correct flash for the components.

Sorry if I talk down on boom audio... I call it like I see it....HD makes motorcycles.. NOT quality audio systems

Yes, had the latest software 1.19.1, and the dealer flashed the bike Sept 18th
had it flashed like this which gave me the 128 OFF

Under the Speakers tab:
Two Speaker setup -
1. Choose one amp in the “select number of amps” dropdown box.
2. Check the box for “2 speakers - Upper Fairing”.

I have read many post on other forums that flashing the bike causes loss of fader and eq control

Just received this from Bill at Biketronics :

There is some misinformation out there about being able to turn off the internal amp in the radio, that does not actually ever happen, you are just changing the EQ settings when you get the radio flashed. Getting it flashed loads different EQ files that "flatten" out the sound and remove the really high bass/treble boost that HD uses when there is no amp installed.

The off/on bin files exist because HD uses one EQ setup when the bike is off and loads a different one when it is running. Unfortunately the one that gets loaded when running does not sound as good, it is kinda weak. HD did this so the their audio equipment would sound good in the showroom but would not blow up when really cranked up on the road.

HI
thanks for the feed back man ,i have this bass problem on my stage 2 speakers ,will changing the EQ setup solve the problem or it will make no difference ?
thanks
