Has anyone figured out how to add a 3.5mm aux audio output headphone jack to BOOM BOX? I would like to listen to music through my custom molded ear inc. iplugs and be able to change songs and control volume through the hand controls. I believe the CVOs come with this option from the factory. Has anyone figured out how to add this option to a non CVO?

rrwz7c- I simply connect my iPhone via the USB port and Bluetooth my earbuds to the phone. I can then control the playlist via the LH controls.
With this setup I long ago abandoned the headset and jack concept.

Thank you, I will try that out. What Bluetooth headphones do you use? The I plugz I have can be worn under a full face helmet comfortably and provide hearing protection, I'm guessing it will be hard to replace them with something that is Bluetooth.

i use the LG Tonemasters

Can someone explain to me how is this Jumbl-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-Streaming-Receiver works with HD radio? Will this allow us to use Bluetooth headset or wired headset with our OEM HD radio?

You plug your phone into the boom box via usb and then pair your Bluetooth receiver (allows you to use wired headphones) or Bluetooth headphones to you phone.

I haven't done this yet, but I'm guessing you don't get full functionality of the boom box through your headphones like navigation prompts and radio?

I did try pairing my phone with Bluetooth and plugging wired headphones into the phone, I was able to listen to songs on my phone and change the song with the bike controls but it would stop working if I switched to radio and tried to switch back with the hand controls.

I simply want to listen to the boom box radio with my custom molded wired headphones. Eventually I will figure out how to add the 3.5mm output jack to the radio.

I am aware of radio portion of it will not work with Bluetooth.....and for listening to music through the phone via Bluetooth.

I need to know if Jumbl-Bluetooth will allow us to listen to the radio through OEM radio head....???? Has anyone tried it with Junbl-Bluetooth?

Thanks!

There are a bunch of different Bluetooth receiver/transmitters you can buy. I just ordered this one on amazon. I'll let you know when I get it.

Thanks much.....if I can listen to OEM radio through it then I am one happy person.... :)

I used this one this winter with my snowmobile helmet and bluetoothed music from my smart phone, It worked very good. I have helmet speakers wired in my snowmobile helmet, connected to the Jumble receiver I mounted to the side of my helmet. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with the harley setup.

I need to know for sure.....OEM HD Radio Bluetooth will pick up my LG HBS800 but will not play music from radio so I am not too certain HD OEM unit is compatible with many devices out there and I think it's proprietary reason.....so it'll be interesting to know what rrwz7c finds...!!!!

I've read the same thing in several places so I'm not holding my breath. I know the CVO street glide comes with 3.5mm aux output from the factory, so there has to be a way to add the aux output!

rrwz7c - It can be done for almost no money & 30 minutes of your time (depending on what bike you have). I did something similar to what you are looking for on my '14 SGS, but I made mine Bluetooth instead of hardwired. See my post #12 in this thread http://streetglide.com/showthread.php?2353-Speakers-in-helmet&p=41383#post41383

If your bike already has the headphone/mike jack on it, there is a 7-pin to 3.5mm adaptor already on the market. If not, and if you are not afraid of soldering 3 wires into the radio harness, all you would need is a 3.5mm male to female extension cable (a few bucks at Wally World). You would just cut the male end off of the cable, solder the wires into the radio harness at the back of the radio & run to cable to wherever you want the female jack to be. Set the radio to send the signals to the headphones in lieu of the speakers & you're good to go!

So there isn't any receiver/transmitter for Bluetooth out there is what I am hearing......HD & HK know this that's why they won't do anything about it for now.....though I was told by HD stealership that HD has already stressed to HK to come up with the software update to fix this issue as they are getting so many complaints......yea right.....I just don't believe that.....if HD pick up the phone and tell HK if they don't come up with the update HD will stop using their product line on all of their touring bikes.....I bet HK will jump and get that update to the public.......I know HD is behind this.....I am truly disappointed with HD & HK to say the least!!!!

I am one of not many that don't really care for external speakers blasting so maybe that's what HD is targeting on for many that enjoy upgrading their systems......they want people to buy more stuff.... :-(

Harley claims to "listen to it's customers"

They would rather listen to the cash registers ringing up sales of high priced made in China crap.

How many of us would go to the stealerships and tell them that we are not buying another Harley until they come out with so and so updates and improvements?

Ahaa - I thought not!

I just don't understand why can't they have that option, all other Bluetooth radios have that option except HD HK radios......

I think a lot of confusion comes from the inexperienced sales folks at the dealerships trying to explain technology they are not completely familiar with and what it means on your Harley. two things to keep in mind "Bluetooth transmitter" and "Bluetooth receiver". Most smart phones today are both, they can send and transmit a Bluetooth signal, and be compatible with devices such as wireless speakers, earbuds or headphones while allowing you to talk and listen.

your Harley however, is (audio) receive only, and basically will mimic your phones audio player. there is no microphone on the HD unit and it is not capable of transmitting a bluetooth (voice/phonecall) signal back to your phone. I had several salesman describe this kind of function to me on the show room floor and I always ask "show me". I so wanted that feature when I got the bike, but I was dupped.

I still think HD is behind this as if you buy any other radio for cages or other motorcycles you can pair your Bluetooth headset and go about your way happy but this is my very first time seeing OEM radio that has Bluetooth option that will not work with any Bluetooth headsets......now that's something else! I am just hoping HK will come out with an upgrade to solve this issue.....I am sure they have it but HD is having them hold back.....I am really sure of that. And also if/when you switch radio you have to take it to HD to re-flash your bike so there is another chunk of $$$ they get....so they got us every way.

Thanks for the reply, I am going to work on figuring this out. All I want/need is a 3.5mm output to plug in headphones. My hope is that I can get all the functions (nav, radio, ect.) through my headphones. I have a '16 SGS.
