Heat shields

Hey guys, I'm getting very close to buying my first street glide. I really like the blacked out look. If I buy a bike that has Vance and Hines power duals in chrome, is it possible to just change the heat shields from chrome to black? I know I'd have to buy black slip ons but I'd like to not have to get new headers.

I would call V&H and find out as they should stock them. Or they will refer you to a retailer. It's also possible to find someone to trade straight across if they bought black and want chrome and not black.

I know its a late addition to the post but, I have called V&H trying to get just the heat shields and for the complete set of heat shields for the Power Duals is $600, vs. buying the head pipe and heat shields @ $599...retarded!
