So I now have a full set of California Heat riding gear (sock liners, gloves, pants liner, jacket liner, and dual controller). My ride is a 2015 FLHXS. Do I need to upgrade the charging system or will I be ok? I know the HD parts book says I need to but I wanted to check here as well.

Thanks.

Could a mod please move this to the correct forum? I think it should be in the general section. My apologies.

You'll be ok as long as you are riding above 2000 RPM.

I do ride between 2500 and 3500. Since I will be fine, is it still recommended to be on the safe side?

I stop at a pub and have a beer to warm up....never had a charging issue.

I have the upgraded high output charging system. Here is the difference:

Add up the amps of all your stuff and add some for lighting and other loads.
