just had the 1K service done
dealer did not have the lubes that I wanted to use in stock
I have been doing some research about this and decided to go with the line of red line lubes in all three trans engine and primary
does any one have any experience with these good or bad or do you know of anything that may do better
as different brand for engine - different in primary-different in trans
kinda a mix and match thing one better than another for a specific task

forgot to say this is for a 2016 FLHXS

thanks for any help and /or suggestions good or bad

I, too have heard great things about the the red line lubes, but haven't used them myself. A buddy of mine has a 16 Ultra Limited and he recently switched to Amsoil engine and transmission lubes. Said his bike runs cooler and virtually all transmission noise is gone, idles smoother, revs smoother, and shifts like it was brand new. He's got about 30-40k miles on his bike.

thanks for the input STATIC CROWBAR
I have heard amsoil was good also but it is hard to find around here
would have to depend on the internet to get it
but that is an option
thanks again

I'll be the odd ball here and not use the same brand in all holes. I use Mobil 1 in the engine, Redline in the trans, and Spectra in the primary. I wanted full synthetic in the engine and transmission, but I wanted Dino oil in the primary. All in all good so far, engine is quiet, trans shifts good and neutral is easy to find. But if you ask 100 people, you're going to get 100 different answers.

Primary lube should be rated JASO MA2 for the best clutch performance and torque capacity.

thanks kartracer-10
was what I was thinking when I went ant got the service done but the dealer did not carry redline or mobil 1
thought I would try and keep it all the same brand if I could

Amazon was my friend on my purchase. Mobil 1 and Redline as well as a K&N oil filter delivered to my door. Only thing I had to go get was Primary oil at my dealer.

I have been very happy with the Spectro brand of lubricants.

They blend dedicated products for each component and have been doing it for over 50 years.

I'm in the process of changing all three holes over to Amsoil Synthetic. Several friends use it and swear by it.

I've been using Amsoil V-Twin 20-50 and the Amsoil Primary and Transmission specific oils in my RoadKing and now my '17 StreetGlide and I like it very much.

Easy to order through their website - and for something like 10 Bucks you get preferred rates and email deals.
