Starting a thread looking for insights from experienced SG owners. All our rides are our own, but valuing experienced owner's insights is a valuable resource, I'm glad I've found this group. I've had Honda motorcycles in my youth and it's been almost 2 decades since I twisted a throttle, finally pulled the trigger on my dream bike. I always thought some day I'll have a Harley, many springs have I daydreamed about that. Finally, the wait is over, one refresher class and I pick it up, 2026 FLHX Liberty Edition.
My plan:
New seat: Saddleman ?
New Windshield: Freedom Shields 14"
Ride 1,000 mike break-in period
Exhaust: Jekill and Hyde System
Stage 1 Screaming Eagle Upgrade more so for increased air flow rather needing anything more for power.
Handlebars: 12s? 14s? It is the one thing that almost made me not purchase the SG. I do not like the stock height.
Lighting: Ciro vs Custom Dynamics?
Engine guard: I like the mustache style and thinking extra lighting to see the ditch lines better for deer and other critters.
Just my initial thoughts, I have a goal of 10k miles in the first year. For someone that hasn't been on a bike in awhile it might be aggressive, but a trip to the East Coast might be a third if that.
Photos to come when I pick it up.

Congratulations! Welcome to the forum! Yes, the handlebars suck, but I haven't swapped mine out yet.
Did the seat, mufflers, and windshield. I stayed with the Harley 12 ", I like the name printed on the windshield.
I also did the Harley tuner, which cleans up the exhaust a little. Post photos when you can!

Welcome back to two wheels! For the lighting, Custom Dynamics is generally the gold standard for visibility and reliability on these bikes. Adding that extra light to the mustache guard is a smart move for spotting deer. Congrats on the new Liberty Edition!

Welcome back to two wheels and congratulations on the Liberty Edition! It's smart to focus on the Stage 1 for better airflow and getting the bike breathing right. Enjoy making it truly yours, especially getting those handlebars and seat dialed in for comfort on those long rides.

The first 1000 miles, Done! Some great experiences already. First fluids changed, upgraded to Spectro Premium Synthetic. I am enjoying being on two wheels again. A few odd warning lights, the strangest, today after just riding through a construction zone, low tire pressure light comes on. I click on my TPMS screen and no pressure on the front tire, rear tire read 44 psi. I thought maybe I picked something up and was losing pressure, so better slow down and prepare to pull over. The next exit was about a mile away. After a little bit, no shaking, maybe half mile, front tire states 42 psi. I love the Mustang extended reach touring seat, I hated the cost, but a comfortable seat is worth it. Freedom Shields 14" windshield has been nice.
