Ive had both. Progressive 444 on a previous bike and Ohlins 159 #3#3 from Howard at Motorcycle Metal on my current ride a 2014 SG. The Ohlins are the better shock. A bit more involved in setting them up for optimum performance and ride, but they are a high quality item that are very tunable. Our roads are terrible so suspension get a real workout. So far no more spine smashing jars and on the really aweful roads and on reasonable roads it rides very comfortable and tight in the bends. Overall I give the Ohlins the nod. They are not cheap but they are fully servicable, lots of tuning expertise and spares are readily available. Definitely go to 13 inch if fitting them to a RG or SG would be my advice also.
