All, I am not sure where this fits but can't find it anywhere that I can think of and since this relates to engine I thought this would be the best place for it.....if not please move it to where it should be....thanks!

I have been looking for engine oil temp gauge, I heard HD digital dipstick oil temp gauge is totally useless where it gets moisture build up and stop working and battery doesn't last, and last but not least hard to change battery on one. So I have decided to install an oil temp gauge to the dash, and which brand is best suited for this? Has anyone installed one, if so which one and how easy to do it? I saw someone mounted the opposite side to small compartment, it'll be on the left side if you are looking at the fairing from seated position.

Its on the right handlebar control with the letter l on it. It will display Oil pressure on the 2017's only as "OK" but no numerical reading as in bikes prior to 2016.

The left one is the oil temp. There is also a engine temp on the tach. There is a plug in the pan that has to come out and the sensor goes in. I did a quick swap and didn't loose much oil, but if you're ready to change the oil do it while it's empty. Then the wire just gets routed up to the gauges. The gauges get swapped out pretty easy. You do have to take out the amp tray but it's not bad. I would say about an hour for everything. You also have to program the miles for odometer and there are things like the parking break indicator you have to turn off. I have to try to put my pin in for security as I have not tried yet. Just incase! I am happy with them and the instructions are pretty clear. I can see them at night where I had trouble with the stock ones, that was my reason for getting them. I bought off Amazon for about $730. They come in blue or red.

What all involved in switching over? Which one is temp gauge?

Maybe I'm overlooking it, but where is the fuel gauge in that setup? I like the looks of those gauges and been thinking about them myself

The fuel gauge is the green bar over the speedometer(00 in picture), it's full. The RPM shows in numbers and also has a bar above it that goes up and down. The set up will give 1/4 mile time, top speed and some other data. So far I like them and have received many compliments.

Nice! I may have to get a set now! They sure look good! Do you still have the miles to empty in the odometer? Not a necessity but I do kinda like it lol.

Yes, they do have the distance to empty feature. It takes a couple of tanks for it to calibrate but works. I still get the warning on my nav screen too asking if I need directions to the gas station.

Mile to empty? Do we have that feature on '14 and up bikes? If so how do I find it?

Thanks!

Yes sir, it's in the left switch pod on the top front part next to the grip. You would use your pointer finger on the switch. Click it for trip A, trip B, miles to empty and the regular odometer.

Wow, thanks I will check on it later on and use it during my trip in Laughlin this week and on my way home. I have been looking for a GPS that has this feature but they are around $600 and good thing I did not buy it.....I am stoked :)
