New to doing my own work what is the best oil and weight to put in it

Redline, Mobil, Lucas....... It really does not matter. Just not some off brand. I've run HD, Amsoil and Mobil. No discernible difference in heat, noise, performance or fuel mileage. It aint rocket science. Pick a good name brand and get it on sale. Run a good filter also. Again, not some Walmart or Dollar store stuff. Go to any forum and search oil. You'll find 100 different opinions about synthetic to dinosour oil and weights.

I've ran Amsoil for several years in several bikes and trucks, I never had any issue so I'll stick with it.

The only difference I have noticed is when I ran synthetic, my motor/trans was much noisier than with conventional. Trans seems to be easier to engage neutral as well.... just my observation... I just like it a bit quieter for peace of mind.

Huh and i thought mine quieted up with synthetic oil. Also neutral was much easier to find.

Just proves my point. Run what you want as long as its a good name brand.

I run Amsoil in all my bikes, truck and boat. Never a problem.
